Idea is simple: have a mobile device that you can place on a wormhole to expand (double) the time it stays up. Not talking about mass increasing here. stats suggestions: Anchortime: 30min, once anchored its undestructable EHP arround 250k
I often find myself in the situation that there is a good wormhole i could use for small roams but there is other stuff to do or other reasons why im not able to make use of it on that exact day. I used to hope that the lifetime of wormholes would be increased in one of the patches but having a "mobile wormhole stabilizer" would even create content in some cases as you have to reveal your plan of using the wormhole for something. It would give wormhole lovers a bit more time to plan and would create more content. |

wormholes were meant to be unpredictable and so much has been lost of that already

Seems like a good idea, especially since they're "undestructible" as you put it. 250k sounds a little high tho.
I think it would be funny if you could stack these. :D |

I sort of like this idea, but make the ehp way lower, and make using the wormhole from either side give drawbacks of some sort? Maybe something like jump fatigue or reduced resistances for an X amount of time,. |

Not from either side unless the draw back is a longer timer on jumping through again

Does this idea come with a big glowing clock in space telling us when the WH will despawn? If it did I may consider thinking this is a good idea. Otherwise...I would say no. Wormholes in my experience will despawn due to mass being exceeded or time being exceeded, to "stabilize" a hole one would need to add more mass available to the total for use through the wormhole and "adding stability" not just time.
Is it a tarp?

+1 bazillion It needs something though.... Oh! I know! Have the deployable also act as an extension of the Concord network so it adds local to the wormhole, that way everyone in there gets put on local so you don't have any pesky residents lurking around intefering with your roaming. Then make it warpable from the overview. That sounds about right. Wait.... those are called gates and they're all over k-space.
This idea again... the search function MUST be broken. |
