I like to ask the community at large, especially for those of you that fly carriers. With the upcoming changes to them and what ever else, I am wondering if it would still be worth starting on to the next step of carrier training skills.
The reason being I am confused about what has been revealed with the use of assigning fighters and fighter bombers to assist others off grid. I am not sure exactly whats entailed here and reaching to those of you that have experience with carriers to clear up some confusions here.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated, please no flaming or trolling.

You realize there are more ways to use carriers then assigning fighters from a pos to your stabbed frigate on a gate right? |

I don't think I've ever assigned fighters more than to test them out. I still have my carrier and am finishing up a second alt for one. It really depends on what you want to use it for. |

If you are going carrier then you should aim for long term logi, but near term combat. Even faction sentries will make quick work of anoms and will be a thorn in the side of any pvpers for at least a few seconds...
imho a Carrier should be every pilots core goal.

No, there is no reason at all to want a Jump Capable Capital ship with large cargo and ship maintenance bays, the ability to deploy drones and fighters, and strong logistics ability. None at all.
Any way, train it all. They are highly versatile ships able to fulfill a variety of roles including combat, transport, and logi. |

Considering CVA is a sov holding alliance, I'm sure your corpmates would have given you a decisive answer, if you had asked them.
Being able to fly a carrier will still be worth it, of course.
Train for taxi use first (as this has the lowest requirements). You should be able to move your own stuff and not rely on your corp/alliance to move your stuff for you. The key skill is probably Jump Drive Calibration. Ask your corpbros if JDC IV is sufficient in your alliance. In S2N JDC V is mandatory for move ops.
Train combat next and triage last (skills needed for combat and triage are mostly similar, except for the skills needed to run a triage mod, which will take a while). Ask in your corp for fittings, so you know exactly what you'll need to train for.

Of course you should, ok sig res changes hurt and this skynet change hurts people like you who operate in heavily camped areas like you do, nothing to do with cowardice as one PL idiot said.
But if you do get a chance to operate in a clear system then carrier ratting anoms is the best way to make ISK, just get aligned real fast.
However if CCP does remove the warping ability of fighters then the answer would be for ratting no, because you will lose too much ISK on fighters being left in anoms...
But if you intend to PvP with carriers then continue!

If you only fly Amarr, trust me, train the other races subcaps or some T2 specialities. You will be missing out on much more if you skip them to go into capitals now.
The skills for a carrier take an EXCRUCIATINGLY LONG time to train, incursions in high sec are more profitable than carrier ratting, pvp in your carrier (against players, not pos) will happen like once every few months if you're lucky (unless you are in some elite jabber ping alliance) and is boring when it does. They used to be good as a suitcase but with Phoebe moving your carrier solo to any significant distance now takes days or weeks, it's probably more profitable to trash the stuff and rat up isk to replace it in the time you'd spend moving a carrier back and forth. My carrier hasn't moved from its lowsec home in months now and I couldn't really care less. |

20-35 mill ticks every 20min... sigh... i almost miss null. I'll stick with my 33m ticks every 20 mins or less in empire.
I have every carrier, super carrier and titan skill and stopped flying carriers as I was always yelled at for being in my carrier and not leaving it floating in a pos, and now that everything bigger than a battleship it being nerved into the ground I don't see myself going back to capitals. I also don't really do pvp between anything "solo" being a 1 vs many (on or off grid) and fleet pvp being terribad pcs (hey heres a Proteus on a gate in a system of 200 reds, surely they want respond to us attacking him)
