Are there any Combat Log Analysers out there.. especially real-time ones?
There are a few out there, but the only ones I can find mostly no longer work or are useless.
Thanks. |

As I said, "There are a few out there, but the only ones I can find mostly no longer work or are useless." Thanks, but all of those you listed fall into those categories unfortunately. |

Real-time ones... sounds more like a WoW thing. I've not come across any real-time ones yet, even though it should be sorta possible to do, even tho it's messy.

I know it's possible, I'm tempted to write one myself but want to see if there is already one available. Many other games out there have them apart from WoW, with very clean and useful implementations.
Advanced Combat Tracker is one that is fantastic for Everquest 2 that shows all sorts of REALLY useful metrics. Although EvE logfiles are not rich enough to support that level of detail. |

I did that some days ago, as a proof of concept, still in a very alpha state and only pure combined incoming and outgoing DPS:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-b7OeK1s3Wk
It's a Java Spring Boot app that comes in a single JAR with Spring Boots embedded Tomcat, so basically doubleclicking the JAR and point the IGB to a localhost URL.. Graph itself is Highcharts.js (http://www.highcharts.com/)
Developed that with the intention to get more info on my frapsed (Solo)PVP fights for later analysis. For really having an in-combat benefit the delay is too high (where I still have to figure why it's almost 4s behind, should be only like 1s as I'm polling the logs every half second and query my server every 1s. For sure the Graphs shows the true readout only after 3s and 10s respectively, but the actual first slight output should be happening around 1s after the first impacts, not after 4s).
The tricky part however is sync'ing the local clock to the servers clock as eve logs have server time timestamps. I synced them manually for the vid, but that has to be done automatically with the info you get from the logs (Like in measuring the difference between local clock and the recentmost logentrys over some ticks and generate some correction value, but you have to assure aswell that theres even new logentrys created not to mess it up when the eve client isn't running or not producing logentries currently)
Not sure if I'm going to spend much effords into it anymore, at least not if I don't find the reason for that hugeass delay :) |

Spent some time on a proper internal clock to combat log time syncronization, quite happy with the result now, this ones from a real fight on TQ I tested it with today:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ql2ap5q17ds
So I have a reaction on the chart now some 1-2 seconds after the damage event, which is within parameters, given that I poll the log every 1s and theres also some lag in the client actually writing the logs..
Prolly going to put that on Github within the next few days after some code cleanup.. |

Average damage incoming and outgoing over 3 seconds and over 10 seconds, you somehow have to integrate discrete damage events over a time context.. Damage per second is a quite relative term having only an alphastrike at a moment.. Thats why I choosed a darker color to mark the short term integrator, as it is more jumpy.. And the lighter color for the long integrator that is for sure very delayed.. Has yet to be tried on BS sized artillery turrets or even dreads :P |

Doesn't it make more sense just to do a summation? |

Well looking at those videos it seems to make more sense from an over-time perspective. Though a running average would be neat, but it'd be going down for every second you didn't fire :P

Well.. there was no responses anymore, so I thought the public interest is neglible. But yeah, can put it to github this weekend for sure.. Will post here when it's done. |

You are right, I surely don't integrate, it is just a sum up and divide by discrete steps.. I am however too used to the term integration, and that kind of summing is nothing more then some sort of discrete integration

It is a moving average over 3sec (or 10sec respectively) in the end..

Hosted on github now:
https://github.com/fetox74/DPSMon
Note that it is just a proof of concept, so if someone wants to do something serious out of it I'm willing to maintain, but unlikely to actively develop.
And on another note, I absolutely HATE javascript and I don't know much about it, so excuse the hack and slay code in that part
