With the upcoming changes to the T3 cruisers I'm at a crossroads for with racial line I would like to follow with my SP. Originally I was going to train for Tengu because all of my offensive skills are in the missile department, but that looks compromised now thanks to the nerf bat. My other option is a Legion, and I'm leaning more towards the Legion because I will spend quite a while flying a HAC before jumping into a T3, and the Sac looks like a decent ship to fly, the Cerb doesn't really appeal to me all that much although some of you will disagree. Eventually I will be flying both races, but would like to know which one is ideal for my first HAC/T3
I spend the majority of my time in wh's and null, doing pve and pvp mainly solo, but I wouldn't mind giving incursions a go if I had an armor tanked legion. If any of you have any advice that would be great.

As far as we know nothing has been noted in regards to that so it would be rather safe to assume that yes you still lose SP for dying in T3 |

Personally I won't bother training into t3's because of this. I'm only an average pvper no point losing sp I have other things to train... |

The Tengu will stoll be pretty darn good after Scylla, but I always hedge my bets when it comes to predicting the future of it because missiles. Rise admitted missiles need work in one of the blogs, but I'm not sure that will be entirely good for the Tengu. Legion will probably continue to be very solid |

None of the T3s really got any reason to be trained anymore at this point. Proteus is a bad Astarte in a brawl but got more tracking albeit less dps with rails. Legion is a an acceptable replacement for a damnation if mobility outweighs utility. Loki is an exception in that it really is the only *recon* with a 5k artillery volley. Tengu is questionable, 100mn hamgu is fairly nice and I actually still use mine occasionally, I just find myself going with a typhoon or orthrus instead these days though. The phoon has significantly more punch, is about equally kitey and the orthrus is just everything the tengu wanted to be.
The offensive capabilities are rivaled by HACs and overshadowed by command ships, their mobility is poor compared to HACs, their price is inefficient at best. If you want to get something with amazing defensive numbers (atleast for a few more weeks), they're awesome, but HACs/CS offer just/almost the same on any scale but the largest aside from those active tanks.
Tl;dr: Train HACs, not T3s. They're not worth their money with the recently buffed competition, and now they're getting the nerfbat on top. Wouldn't invest SP again. If you have the honour of being one of the *all racial battlecruisers V* generation, skip HACs/T3s and go for CS, ships for real (wo)men.
PS: Sac is for solo/gang-brawling, cerb is for kiting. They are quite fundamentally different. Sac can rather easily brawl down multiple BS though.

You're being a bit narrow minded about this, what about all the niche utility roles that T3s can fill?
Neut legions and Jamgus to name two, as well as just plain hybrids of HAC and recons (extended point range, web range).
Also let's not forget about black ops |

Depends on what you plan to use it for. Proteus for solo work. Loki for station camping. In fleet they all have their use one way or another.

Because HAC's work great with Cov Ops cloaks and a probe launcher.
If you use your T3's for general utility like they were originally designed and are going to more closely resemble after the changes, you shouldn't have an issue.

T3's aren't getting hit that hard they are going to lose some tank, and rails will be less deadly but the Loki is actually getting (minor)a buff. |

If you are in alliance and there is a ship doctrine, then train for that T3 ship. If you don't have a T3 doctrine, then I wouldn't train for it. The reason for it is price, skill loss. |
