Seriously struggling with getting any decent LP/Isk conversion. I keep hearing that an average should be 1K per LP but I haven't had any luck. To give a bit of insight, I'm running L4 missions for Federation Navy and I've mostly been focusing on the ammo market. I've been focusing on Dodixie and run to Jita to check prices, but I'm lucky to even break 500isk per LP.
Should I be heading farther out into space? How long should I realistically be waiting for 50k ammo to sell?
All the buy orders, even in Jita, are way short of 1k isk/lp - it costs around 3.4M isk for me to produce 5000 Federation Navy Antimatter Charge L (2.4m to buy, 1m for 5K AM Large ammo) and the highest buy orders are 900ish per for a profit of 4.5m. So I make 1.1m off 5000 ammo for 2400LP. That's under 500isk/LP.
How are people hitting 1K? Is Federation Navy just flooded and worthless?

The problem with ammo is its easy to convert and everyone does it. There are plenty of other mods you can try but it may take some gathering.
Apart from that the only other faction is the sisters of eve which give at least 2000 isk per LP point.
There are two systems in highsec with level 4 SOE missions but both systems are full of russian suicide gankers on throwaway alts who spend all day shooting everything they can.
If you mission there use nothing deadspace and only tech 2 if you can.
Also if you can fly a marauder make sure you can overheat and if they fly in hit bastion and overheat and you may weather them but i was once hit by 30 cats at once and did not stantd a chance. one deadspace mod dropped and paid for everything.

https://www.fuzzwork.co.uk/lpstore/ Use as a guide, it's not set in stone.
Also you run to Jita? You fly there? If so https://eve-central.com/ might help. Also you get three character spots on your account, you can make a character in a few seconds that just sits in jita. Need to know something in jita, log of your main, log in that other character, and done. |

I mean, I'm not really looking for insane 2000isk/LP profits or anything.
Just a modest 1,000 with less effort. Maybe I should settle for less, I dunno. I've been working through every item in the LP Store figuring out profit margins and they're all sub-1000
Edit: In response to the guy above me, I do have a character sitting in Jita. |

Don't do ammo. Implants usually pay off better. Also, Fed Navy isn't very good as you are in direct competition with FW militia members who can do it for cheaper. |

And right there are the reasons for your struggles. The Navy corps offer much the same items as the factional warfare corps, and Factional Warfare gets insane amounts of LP. Hence Navy LP is not worth much. Ammo is quick and easy to convert, so lots of people do, hence ammo is a poor conversion.

As Elena says above, Navy corp is the worst corp to work for in terms of LPs.
For a faction like Gallente there are a couple fo different types of LP store, the Navy one, Science (e.g. Roden Shipyards) and Mining corps.
Either run missions for Sisters or Thukker or switch to a science type corp. Roden are a pretty good deal, they have a couple of the best agents in Gallente space, in Juns and the one in Verge Vendor, they have a better LP store and they also have R&D agents (though it's not really worth training the datacore skills, but it's a bonus if you have them already).

Nobody else has menitioned it, so I will, but you generally want to avoid doing missions for corps that have very popular L5 agents. There are entire alliances that fund themselves off of farming 10s of millions of LP daily from Fed Navy L5 agents, which keeps the LP values for the store deeply depressed. |

Navy corps do tend to get the hit from both l5 LP inflation and the fact that people in FW have lots of overlapping items.
The best returns tend to be found on the items that require other items to redeem. Lots of l4 runners tend not to shoot other empire factions because they want to be able to travel in thier space, but collecting and redeeming or even selling tags can be quite lucrative in its own right.
There are tools to help you find the best isk to lp out there if you are interested in maximizing profit. When I go to make money right now I am getting LP from True Power, Guristas or the 24th imperial crusade and I am never getting below 2k isk per lp on the items I am selling. |

I run L4 security missions for the navies of all 4 factions and I have never found a way to convert my LP to more than 500 ISK/unit on a regular basis. So I also run L4 missions for other agents (not SOE) where I can achieve 1750 ISK/unit. The tradeoff there is this:
With the navies, I can usually find a system or region where several L4 Navy agents exist, so I can run several missions over short period of time, racking up lots of that cheap 500 per unit LP. One non-Navy corp that I run L4 missions for has only one L4 security agent. Whenever that agent gives me a faction mission, I decline, so as to not affect my standings. If I get offered two of those in a short period of time, I'm out of business with that agent for a while.
I pursue LP at both levels, but I find myself doing Navy missions far more often. For me, the tradeoff is volume. I can rack up 500 LP points a lot faster than I can rack up the 1750 LP points. Plus the mission rewards accumulate faster with the Navy agents, who are mostly in 0.5 and 0.6 space, while my more lucrative LP agent is in a higher level space, where the mission rewards and LP are less.
One thing to consider when reaching out for higher value LP is that others are doing that too. Sometimes my LP that usually values at 1K or 1.5K per unit has been devalued by market forces. Then I either convert it at a lower than expected rate or sit on it until a market adjustment revalues it higher.
Don't panic now GǪ there'll be plenty of time to do that later.

This.
Fed Navy is worth missioning for initially to get good trade rates at Dodi but once your standing is up around 6 or 7 or so go run missions for someone else.
As mentioned above SOE are a reliable 2000k/LP selling probes and probe launchers and have stayed around that figure for years.
There are other corps that randomly get you more like 4000/5000 but only for short times and even a couple of sales too many can flood the market so people are less inclined to talk about those when they find them. |
