Edited by: Alkku on 15/10/2006 16:34:57 My friend Tamemissile tried to buy 1 foxfire rocket from me with 20milj isk. Tamemissile is trial-character so he is not able to transfer money - so we tried to get the money to me this way. But the money went to Rebublic fleet, when Tame tried to buy that rocket from me. How can this happen? We lost 20milj isk, can we get them back somehow?

Edited by: Iam Spartacus on 15/10/2006 16:59:30 You placed a sell order on the market for 1 foxfire rocket at a price of 20,000,000 ISK
Tamemissile made an offer to the market to buy 1 unit of foxfire missile at a price of 20,000,000 ISK
The Market matched Tamemissile's bid to the cheapest available sell order and gave his 20,000,000 ISK to that seller in exchange for one of their foxfire missiles.
If you want to use the market in this way make sure there are no other sell orders in the station for the item you are trading with.

You can set up an escrow for him to claim, or you can station trade.

You can tell who sold you the rocket and pocketed the 20 mil. Send them an Evemail and ask for a refund. Odds are, they'll try to help, at least to some extent.

You can 'trade' with each other if both players are in the same stardock. (including trial accounts) You could have transfered the money that way. Or 'bought' the missle for the amount in the private trade.
This of course would require having the 2 accounts online at the same time. I have run 2 account on the same machine with no problems.

QFT
It'll use the lowest buy order.

I thought if you specified which order to buy, you can get the right one? Right click an order in details view, and click buy.

Edited by: Sun Win on 15/10/2006 22:55:25 Does not work.
The thing will buy at the PRICE of that order but will give your money to the person who put the lowest sell order.
I often end up with people paying me more than I offered for my sell orders because of this effect.

But the thing will still buy from the selected location, at least the cheapest from that location?

Oh, yes. As I understand it your money always goes to the cheapest seller at whatever location you want to buy it at.
I have not researched this extensively, mind. But I always end up with what I wanted in the station that I wanted. And I sometimes end up with more ISK than I asked for on the other side of things.
