Sooooo yea. Insta popped my t1 frigate with a few t2 modules. I'm assuming a player will need a t2 frigate in order to complete this. But from what I've read -- even t2 frigates don't make it out.
With the mission being in Low Sec and the possibility of losing 25+ million in a t2 frigate, are these missions really worth 8,000 LP? I don't see myself accepting them. I don't mind the challenge but for a couple million and a few thousand LP..... |

Received the mission in a .7 if I recall correctly and the mission was 7+ jumps out into low sec. I was going against a ship with rails and webs ... daredevil I believe. |

for a .7 it-¦s a bad quote on lp. got 10 k in a .8 system.
but yes the daredevil you got no real chance against him with the t1 frig. 90 % web and so. i assume you read https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=369477
burners intended to be more like pvp, but ccp just gave them so much cheats that a burner fit has nothing to do like a pve fit with pvp
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=371443&find=unread thats useful infos about the burners itself. |

t2/faction frigs are recommended. that thread linked above has good fits that work.
imo burners are OP compared to player frigs, and pretty much require gimmick fits. about half of that is just because it is hard coded, and another half is tactics that work on players don't work on NPCs. Also I haven't spent too much time in a pimped out frig with pirate implants and links.

Lost my Ish with over 90 resists dual armor rep'd. Realized I had a descent tank but crap dps at 145 which only scratched it's armor lol. I think I managed to apply about 1 percent damage lol.
yea.. ill wait for a nerf to try those again.

Ishkur is the first ship I killed the serp burner with on the test server. Enyo seems to be better as burners have a lot of drone hate. Mostly just need long range webs so you can actually hit the burner, not quite sure what the dps requirement is.

Yea.. testing different fits and losing ((t2)) ships on the test server is one thing but actually doing it on Tranquility..... Well I guess one needs to bask in their isk for this mission.

You can do them for the fun of it but they're not worth running if you're doing them purely for the lp reward.

There won't be a nerf. The Burner missions were not meant to be solo'd, but players came up with high cost, high skilled, specific fits to deal with them. Get some friends and have fun with those missions. |

I'm an EVE loser... roll solo in most games doing pve stuff. But if anyone wants to hit one up with me I'm game.

good thing they also have a 5mil bounty and the reward+bonus is usually around 5mil as well. and for the most part they take ~10 mins to complete with most of that being travel time.

I don't think anyone said they weren't supposed to be soloable. If I remember right Fozzie said he defeated each one on sisi with a t2 ship and fit. Honestly most of the bling is optional (and a bunch of it is pretty cheap too). this blog came out pretty shortly after burner missions were introduced and even by then 50% were done solo: http://community.eveonline.com/news/dev-blogs/some-npcs-just-want-to-watch-the-world-burn/

Yeah, the bling adds security. Make a few mistakes, not have perfect timing, etc. |
