It has been a while since I did anything standings related so I wonder if someone could help me.
1.If I want to quickly gain standings with a particular NPC corp is it quicker to blitz level 3 or level 4 missions. My theory here is that you can do possibly 3 level 3 missions for every 2 level 4 (my theory maybe flawed ill admit) and so it may actually be quicker to gain standing from level 3 missions rather than level 4.
2.Does the storyline mission you get after 16 normal missions give corporation standings boost as well as faction. The blurb on the wiki page says GÇ£Upon completion or failure of a storyline mission, a faction boost or loss with the corporation who assigned the mission will be applied as with standard missionsGÇ¥ which seems to mean to me you lose corp standings if you fail but only faction standings if you complete.
3. If #2 does give a corporation standing too is there a way of ensuring that you will get a storyline mission with an agent of the corporation that you attempting to gain standing with?

1. it would be faster for level 3s I think, im done fact standings boost doing transport missions too, they are boring fyi 2. the storyline is given by the empire noit by the corp, you will get an empire boost but not a corp boost as your storyline can often come from an agent at another corp. 3. even if it did give a boost to corp, if you get 1 storyline (but don't do anything with it ie. decline it/accept and do it) 16 missions later you can get another storyline from a 2nd agent somewhere else. ive had a total of 3 storylines waiting on me before.

You don't want quality, you want quantity. Find a system with multiple agents in it and run missions back to back.
For instance, if you got a system with 4 level 2 security agents, and 1 level 3 agent; running 4 missions consecutively for all 4 level 2 agents will get you faster gains. |

Distribution missions are faster than security. Level 3 mining missions are also very fast. The story line mission does boost corp standings, but it boosts corp standings for the corp that issued the story line and that isn't always related to the corp(s) you ran the 16 missions to get it, just related by faction. |

is there any way to ensure that you get the Storyline from the corp that you want standings with? |

Ensure that the closest storyline agent to your location when you complete the 16th mission is for the corp you want to gain standings with.
What you can always do if you keep track is locate a storyline agent for the corp you're gaining standings with (if one exists), locate the nearest L3 agent of the same faction to that storyline regardless of corp, then do 15 missions for your chosen corp, one for the one near the storyline agent and then in theory you get the storyline with the corp you're trying to gain standings with.
It's extra work and extra book keeping though. |

Everyone posted great info and Elena Thiesant did an excellent job of explaining how to get a Storyline Agent with a specific Corp. An Agent Finder app and the Star Map will make it easy to set that up.
Also just wanted to confirm that compared to all other Agent levels, Level 3 missions have the best standing gain for time spent completing missions.
Also out of all of the Agent divisions, completing Distribution missions will gain more Storyline mission offers. However those Storyline mission offers have a 50/50 chance of being either Distribution or Security missions.
And just in case it's needed later, here's a copy of 'The Plan'.

Everything else was already covered, so I will just give you this link http://eve.timers.dk/. It is a browser based app to track your missions, especially if you want to runthe 16th mission for the agent of your choice.
