Been looking for a new router for some time now. Narrowed it down to three choices.
Netgear Nighthawk v6 TP Archer Linksys WRT AC1900
As you can see, cost is no issue. Just looking for a new router, but before the final decision (thinking nighthawk v6 because of the wifi range, which is somewhat of a priority), I am hoping follow capsuleers can provide some input. :) |

That Netgear is the one I'd pick, but I'm curious if you understand that it's 802.11 AC. It appears exclusively AC, without B/G/N. iPhone 6 uses 802.11 AC, but older devices won't work on that router.
I'm partial to Netgear.

I use two of these as a bridge across the house, and get 20 MB up/down through them. I'm not sure why you'd need more throughput than that. (20 MB is the speed of my fiber optic internet service).

I checked some reviews, Nighthawk supports 802.11b/g/b/AC. Well, I don't have the speed as you do... it is at around ~10MB. How long you been using the AC1750? |

Since it was new, and $400 per unit lol. So basically two years. Just set it and forget it.
Wait, maybe it was $200 per unit. I forget.

don't think it will make any real difference which router you eventually buy ... their security is essentially pisspoor so you will potentially still be wide open to potential incursions from malicious invasion unfortunately
not wanting to rain on your parade or anything though |

Perhaps I should have elaborate more. Reason I needed a new router is because my current one is turing to ****. Disconnecting randomly, wifi is barely reliable, which is hair pulling. So security is a good thing, but the last thing in my mind right now. :) So I am looking for a router that will last me years to come. |
