Hello EVE community,
I am looking for a laptop something portable enough to move between hotel tables on a daily basis, but certainly doesn't need to be a gaming machine "off the plug".
I have been looking at Geforce GTX 860m series laptops, which seems like it would satisfy the current EVE client, but I am not sure if it has sufficient staying power, the card has been in "off the shelf" retail machines since October 2014.
On the high end option The 980m beats the performance of my desktop system (GTX 480) but would be a more substantial investment.
I suppose the ultimate question is:
$2000 for a 970m or $1300 an 860m and bank the $700 for the next laptop?
I have been using: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html as my resource for power comparisons.
Kindest Regards,
Tom Gerard
One of the oldest mission players in EVE designed a chart that explains stat priority in regards to mission running, compared Alpha, DPS, Ship Speed and Sig Radius and scores them.

This Asus laptop has caught my fancy, it is using the new version of the 860m which is supposed to be 15% faster. Still waiting on a passmark benchmark for it, and there are still zero reviews from newegg.com
So I am standing by.... and dare I say.... with hope in my eyes.
Now with 100% less Troll.
