My question is simple: Since the changes to pods and removing the potential loss of SP, being podded went from being a thing you feared to being something that you hoped happened if you lost a fight, so you could be sent back to station and get back in the fight.
Do you think CCP intended for this mentality to happen or is it an unintended consequence? |

You ave to understand one thing, there will ALWAYS be unintended consequences from changes.
No matter what game, no matter which company.. hell even in real life, people will just addapt and find another way. |

People already did this when clones still had an ISK cost. The fear of pod loss has always been due to implants, not the death tax. |

exactly. Death clones were never prohibitive to the person of that Skill level.

Assuming your home is very close to where the fight happens and you have another ship fitted and ready to join the fight, yes. So count it as a home or friendly territory defense advantage.
However, there are many pilots using expensive implants and many ship fits requiring implants in which case the consequences are quite costly.
Removal of SP loss is a change that makes combat pvp more accessible to everyone and I'm pretty sure what you mention is a totally unintended consequence. |

SP loss was easily prevented by an annoying, unnecessary inconvenient pain in the a$$ fee that most pilots who were ever podded would do without even thinking. Implants was always what really hurt, and still does. Their change was nothing but a positive that was intended.
If you enjoy losing set after set of implants then by all means... |

You only lost SP if you were LAZY and IRRESPONSIBLE and failed to keep your clone updated. The "fear" is from loss of implants. That rack of high end implants costs a pretty penny.
But I do want to repeat:
EVE NEVER HAD A MECHANIC WHERE BEING PODDED MEANT LOSS OF SKILL POINTS!!! (Too emphatic?) You lost skill points as a result of your neglect or just being CHEAP. Stop lying to the noobs. TYVM.
Paradise is like where you are right now, only much, much better.

TYVM. Have a nice day!

It was always about the implants not the SP. |

Yes, get into your next ship and go again.
This is good
There are good ships
And wood ships
And ships that sail the sea
But the best ships are

Confirming I never one cared about the 6m Clone compared to the 300m ship and 500m pod I lost. |
