Rescache.exe finds no corrupt files on my PC. It does want to download the entire game.. but I've done that 4 times now with all failures upon launching. I'm SICK of digging all over this website seeing suggestions dating back to the 14th.. seeing multiple repair tools suggested, multiple launchers. This is completely asinine and I'm done.
I'll be back in a few months to see if you have fixed this issue. |

I've tried everything mentioned in thread to be able to log save for re-installing the game client . I enter username/ password and all I get is a gray play button.
Anyone got any suggestions what is going on here? |

I can't find rescache.exe. Where is the EVE Installation folder? I checked in the CCP folder in Program Files (x86) and it's not there.
Edit: found it. |

This DoD stuff broke my EVE. I'm getting a "client update failed" message at the bottom of the launcher by the progress bar, and an error popup telling me the EVE launcher cannot update a directory from which processes are running, then tells me to close exefile.exe. |

Well, in my case, game starts but with huge delay. Process exefile.exe*32 appears in Task manager, however it takes up to 5 min to launch game, even on direct file run.
Problem started after enabling "Download all". |

I've had the same problem and run the rescache.exe. It downloaded some missing files and now it's back to normal again. |

I just sent a bug report about this...
All I got when loading launcher was:
Error -7 when loading url https://login.eveonline.com/oauth/authorize/?client_id=eveLauncherTQ&lang=en&response_type=token&redirect_uri=https://login.eveonline.com/launcher?client_id=eveLauncherTQ&scope=eveClientToken%20user |

For some odd reason, the only things I need to connect to for playing EVE are down. The german TS I normally connect to is down and I can't connect to EVE either, despite having tried everything in the book (and on the forums). A tracert to the eve server gave me a time out, so It's obviously not a client issue, but it might explain why some updates were a bit iffy as well. A tracert to our TS server didn't give me a time out but it doesn't connect... And I can connect to everything else. I went on and looked at Chribba's eve-offline server monitor site and there was some odd connection behavior a couple of hours ago, and it seems to have persisted up until now in my case. I've had launcher issues first and now this. All the suggestions made by the DEVs haven't helped yet, including but not limited to:
- rescache.exe run - reinstalling the client (my client worked properly before scylla) - manually downloading the new launcher file and reinstalling - manually downloading the new repair file and reinstalling - changing socket from port 26000 to 3274 (I could connect to either one before scylla) - enabling the cache download in the launcher - running either the exefile in bin OR the launcher in administrative mode |

This is happening to me too, but only at the very first start. When I close EvE and start it again a few hours later without shutting down my system, it's back to normal again, until I reboot. |

UPD: Looks like running rescache.exe could really solve this issue. No missed or corrupted files found during scan, but game client runs smoothly now. |

Still happening to me, even after running rescache.exe. It didn't find any problems, but the first start-up of EvE after a reboot takes like 2-3 minutes. |

Had some issues with launcher last few days buy restarting launcher fixed them. Since downtime have been getting this (Picture of launcher) have tried restarting launcher, cleared cache, restarted pc, even run rescache.exe with no curruptions (Ran Again Has Found 4GB Of Missing Files Which Should Never Have Been Missing As I Was Playing This Morning So Thats Now A Days Play Lost) .
This is a Steam based account gives me no end of troubles had to do a complete re-install after tried connecting to SiSi Steam made me download files then Launcher made me download them again I'm losing my patience with this to be honest. |

I have this issue on four accounts, CCP don't seem to care.
I really don't think I'm going to need four accounts going forward.

I'm having the same problem. Since the patch the client had been really slow to start from the launcher but today it is so slow it doesn't want to seem to start at all.
Could someone give me a step by step on how to find this "rescache.exe"? I can't seem to locate it. Getting annoyed. |

Hi guys.
The three most common issues we are seeing are:
Incorrect folder permissions. This can be fixed by right clicking the icon used to start the game and selecting run as administrator from the drop down list.
Corrupt resource cache files. This can be fixed by running rescache.exe from the EVE installation folder.
Antivirus software like Kaspersky blocking the launcher or the launching of the client. Troubleshooting tips for these issues and more can be found in the following link.

I think in my trying to get my launcher running that I used the repair tool which did bad things (tm) to my SharedCache.
So I could run up eve as long as I have DoD enabled unless I want approximately 7G download (it gets a little less each time I play).
Luckily I also had eve on my laptop and wasn't stupid enough to use the repair tool on it. So once the launcher settled down I have 1 working eve on my laptop and 2 non working eve on my PC. (4 if you include SiSi)
In linux the location of the shared cache will likely default to "~/.wine/drive_c/users/Public/Application Data/CCP/EVE/SharedCache" which is where I found mine. Meaning that for windows users it will be in
C:/users/Public/Application Data/CCP/EVE/SharedCache
Being in AUTZ and having internet of the quality usually referred to with expletives I decided to try copying the files from my laptop to my PC.
14.7G of unpacked files (66k files) later: OP success, both clients working again.
Caveats:
- don't have eve launcher or clients running (check for orphaned exe files)
- check the file permissions of the destination folders are ok
