Rorqual ore was 150 mill , which is a honest price considering its still sold in collector edition . Tash Murkon magnate same story as rorqual .

Yikes you overpaid. We were buying hand-over-fist for 8 to 10 million per BPC last week. And I know of others with 10,000+, I'm honestly surprised the market has held up this well and am exiting my positions as fast as possible. I may keep a few dozen in case the price ever rises towards the 'expected' LP value, but I'm not holding my breath. |

I'm rather laughing at the psyches of speculators who are wetting their diapers here and realizing the idea that CCP may quickly come to the conclusion that they've charged FAAAR too much for these skins and have decided to cut the AUR prices drastically.
There isn't a massive rush on these because they are so damned expensive. One could spend a hundred bucks and only have a small portion of their hanger decked out.
I mean think about it...really think about it.
Hopefully...this doesn't turn out to be the worst disaster of a trade in the history of your trading career and a total trainwreck for the peeps who've put real $$$ in. |

Some of the old skins like Omen Kador doubled in price in the past 24 hours. Looks like it will be weeks, not months, before they are close to equlibrium price. |

The market for SKINs is weird. I think the two biggest pools of demand are speculators with different information/views trading between one another and a small number of price-insensitive pilots buying shiny SKINs. Perhaps demand will be steady over time but not apparent compared to the supply rush on launch day - we'll see.
For anybody who missed it, here's today's drama I've seen on SKINs (from reddit):

Markets are murky, but I'd place a lot of money on that being manipulation/hording and not broad demand (either for investment or for use). |

I was actually just trolling in my previous post. I do enjoy shaking up the weak hands.
Honestly I have a sneaking suspicion that CCP will be bringing more value to current skins that people have purchased then CCP has let on. CCP has alluded to some things in earlier dev blogs and these ideas are being discussed in other threads. |

There is only one scenario where prices start heading towards the ISK:AUR exhange rate.
Either that one scenario, or price cuts across the board on existing collections. Although, that one scenario and price cuts simultaneously could also be an option... Who dares - wins moment for CCP.

I have no doubt whatsoever that prices will start trending upwards. Many of these are trading at 1/10th or below the AUR conversion rates for no other reason than the fear of inexperienced traders. I assure you there is a medium between current prices and the exorbitant prices that CCP is currently charging. In the meantime I am more than happy to continue taking the *right ships off your hands. |

Without that one scenario taking place, I don't see frigates rising above the 100 mil mark.
Cruisers appear to be in a good place with 120-160 p/u also. Any higher and demand could possibly dry out, and then they'll be moving at singular daily volumes for the price of the exchange rate, if that is a favourable exchange for one who wishes to see them up there.

The bug certainly introduced new demand for skins as well. Personally, I have consumed 5 skins I wouldn't have otherwise, just to check out the possibilities. Downtime is over and this still works, so it seems that this will last at least another day if not two.
It also looks like investing in the buddy invite Catalysts was indeed a good idea , thanks for the heads up. ;) |

Well considering I bought 2000 at an average price of around 500k and have sold 75% of them at around 2-3mil I'd say I'm personally doing great with them.

Let this be a lesson: Trading in items that each character will never need more than 1 of changes trading rules drastically. This will be a long haul for those vested and if you triple your money from this point in the next 2 years well...you probably could have done better working other areas of the market.
The Rattlesnake Victory edition on the otherhand is going to take off. There are maybe 600 of these? Being that the Rattlesnake is an "end user" vessel that skilled players fly many will be willing to trade their mothers left kidney to have one of these and they will actually be able to FLY THEM once they become a skin. |

The consumption rate is fine, and is much higher than clothing from the NES store which harbour the issue of second hand resales.
The problem right now is overall pilot activity - it is down to 2008 levels.

Care to show us basis on wich you do your conlusions? i.e. nfo on cunsumpiton of skins As I see, that NES priced iskins market is mote or less dead.
Pre-change skins actually show some volume, but you cannot account what part of the volume is acrual consumtion and what part is stockpiling/flipping.
Only CCP know about direct NES purchases, but threre no is publicly available info on that. |

Very true, and this is why we're all sort of in the dark until/unless CCP decides to share this information. There a lot of uncertainty. Well CCP reduce prices? Will they revamp the system entirely? Only they know and - for now - they're not telling.
I put a lot of money into limited-edition skins, but not so much that I can't sit on them for the long term. Right now, smart buyers are on the fence. Why buy something for 800 million today if it'll sell for 700 million in a week? At some point, though, prices will stabilize and more people will start buying them to use. Once prices bottom out, I expect that more and more people will start to buy them for personal use instead of buying them as an investment. Since every skin that is activated reduces the overall supply, this will be the first step toward prices rising again. Once prices do start to rise, I very much doubt that they'll stop. |

My wallet transactions.
Some of it, of course, is speculative, but majority from this point onward is people purchasing SKINs for personal use. Mind you, I said it is the rate is fine, higher than apparel.
Even Comet Police SKINs are selling at 39 mil p/u.
The fact that the ones from the old batch stay at 30-90 mil for Cruisers, 12-60 mil for Frigs, 50-150 mil for Battleships, all which are at fraction of the AUR cost, shows that CCP's NES store pricing model is flawed.
Discounts will undoubtedly come in the future, as 4300 AUR, or 940 mil for a Tech 1 frigate SKIN is absurd.

The new Marauder SKINs are here - the bundle deal for all 4 unique ships costs 6990 AURUM, or 1,747.5 AURUM each, making the nominal value to be 449.35 mil with PLEX conversion rate, or 390.74 mil ISK with direct Aur purchases.
Meanwhile, some Tech 1 Frigate SKINs are still 4,300 AURUM. (G£+GùáGÇ+Gùá)
