Hello.
I'd like to suggest a cargohold UI icon status. A blue round tape around the cargohold icon showing the current cargo status. So half full cargo would show half of the blue round tape around the cargohold icon. Much like the red round tape is showing the damaged status around weapons icons.
Why?
I find myself undocking and flying to my op with full cargo of loot or missing ammo (empty cargo) that i used on previous op.

You can already determine the status of your hold using the ctrl-I shortcut.
Your personal inability to empty your hold of loot isn't going to be aided by yet another indicator of a full hold. As the cargo hold icon ia only available when undocked, this will in no way prevent you from undocking with a full hold. Why haven't you gotten into the routine of emptying your hold as soon as you dock?
EvE is hard. It's harder if you're stupid.
I couldn't have said it better.

Sensibility is entirely relative. You see this idea as sensible. I, however, see nothing sensible in an idea that is nothing more than, "I'm to lazy to bother typing two keys, or one mouse click on an existing icon, to check my cargo hold (that I know is full) before I undock, so give me a coded solution to my laziness so I can see how full my hold is after I undock."

It is sufficient to say, "this would not be useful to me" to voice your opinion. Calling the OP lazy doesn't really improve your argument. The devs are going to spend time on the projects that give them the most improvement for the effort within technical and timing constraints. It is simple enough to push for what you want without denigrating what you don't want by insulting the other forum users.
And my counter-argument to your argument is that difficult UI isn't gameplay. There are a lot of reasons why knowing, at a glance, what the remaining cargohold capacity is useful. Frankly when I'm in space I want as few non-essential windows open as possible because I might be busy doing something that requires an unobstructed view of space. Also clicking back and forth to see the capacity of all my holds requires additional time -- something very simply solved with an info panel or other information conveyance. |

Reread the OP. He specifically states that he wants this change because:
Prda Prda wrote:I find myself undocking and flying to my op with full cargo of loot or missing ammo (empty cargo) that i used on previous op. This is blatant laziness on OP's part, to get something coded because he cannot do for himself.
What you're saying, from my point of view, is that you want CCP to code something so that you don't have to open an inventory window to see how much you're carrying. I challenge you to name one, just one, mainstream MMORPG that does not make you open an inventory window to see what you're carrying.
EvE is hard. It's harder if you're stupid.

He wasn't asking to see what he was carrying, but how many more things he could carry. And there are MMORPGs that do that. Some out of the box, others with mods. And for the ones that don't, it's often a frequent request.
Off the top of my head, I know that the following ones have this feature:

I took a look at the idea in your signature, and it's not something I'd want and would find detrimental to my experience. I've done a lot of user interface design work over the years and went to school for it. People clamor for total control, but only a very small percentage of people actually use it, and a smaller percentage actually get value from it despite what they think.
Most people need the UI to give them the information they need right then and for the rest to be easily discoverable. Cargohold capacity is very useful to a lot of activities in EVE. PvP isn't one of them, though looting after the fact is. Transporting, mining, PvE, logistics, and such will all receive benefits from having this information available. |

According to the pucture this round blue tape is only visible by undock when you already in space which means you still could undock with full of loot or out of ammo.
Better to have it available while you docked. But it means you still have to check you cargoholds manually same thing i could say about drone bay. Sometimes i do undock with wrong drones type.
What i did i put a sticky notes on my monitor - check cargo! Took me a few weeks to make that habbit almost auto, so no more mistakes. |

I noticed your signature. You asked for the fuel and ice to be color coded to make it easier to see? Someone taking your same stance could counter with that you can just hover over them to see which is which. And then counter, "just hover and check don't be lazy". |

You still haven't properly explained why it's so hard to press ctrl-c before undocking to check if you have cargo space? As for any other time, if you're looting a can or wreck, you already have the inventory window open, it's merely one click to see the existing hold capacity meter.
EvE is hard. It's harder if you're stupid.
I couldn't have said it better.

Cool idea but wouldn't it be a better idea to see the inventory icon in the sidebar to show how full your main cargo hold is? It can be seen both in and out of a station. |

Not a bad idea.
Can't say how many times I had to open my cargo to make sure I'm not filling up. Yeah, the cargo sound helps, but not as much as this would.
Just make sure to add it to the inventory icons on the left pane for containers, item hangar, ship hangar and current ship as well as the inventory icon on the neocom or the cargo hold icon next to the safety button.
