On the 29th of April it'll have been a year since we lost one of our best, brightest and most loved Capsuleers. John Bellicose was a friend, a teacher, an incredible man who inspired all who knew him to enjoy this amazing game. John tragically took his own life due to crippling depression. The fact that none of his friends and family knew he was suffering to that degree is testamemt to his quiet self sacrifice.
Many of us have lost an Eve friend, lost a player who taught or inspired, lost that wonderful individual who livened our Eve experience. The Funny thing is that most of us have lost someone and don't know it. John was the exception because his Mother took the time to contact us and tell us the sad news. Most of our lost friends just stop logging in, and we have no knowledge of their fate.
On April 29 the Brave Collective is organising an event to celebrate the lives of these lost players, these absent friends. All are invited, all are welcome. There will be a Battle Royale, a loot extravaganza, 100s of billions in prizes, enough explosions to Satiate even the most bloodthirsty of you.
A number of newbro friendly organisations have graciously offered their public comms to ensure nobody misses out, CCP have indicated they will assist with digital wizardry on their (soon to be an overloaded, smoking ruin)of a node, and it's looking like it will be an amazing day.
Please come. Honour your fallen friends, celebrate their lives and their contribution to YOUR life. Brave will be flying as many Bellicoses as we can, but bring your friends favorite, bring YOUR favorite. All i ask is you have fun, get involved, and fit a festival launcher.
I'll post details below as things finalise, so watch this space. In the meantime, spread the word. Make some propaganda, invite some newbies who don't know enough to read these forums. Let's make this the biggest celebration that Eve's ever seen- a celebration of the amazing community that we share.
Come along, honour your lost friends. Fit festival, have fun.
One last word. If you're struggling with depression and thoughts of suicide, please speak up and Broadcast for Reps. (As a last resort there's even an in game channel.)

Hi Everyone
I am the Head of the Events Division in Brave. I will be coordinating the organisation of this event. As such, if you believe that this event is something you would, or your coporation would like to participate in, please contact myself in game to provide RSVP. The more indication of numbers, the better it would likely be that we would be able to accomodate you all.
Thank you very much.

I don't really post on the forums much, but this topic deserves it.
This event recognizes a very serious problem. If you asked a lot of players why they still play EVE (or most any MMO for that matter) the answer would be something along the lines of "my friends play, or I like the social/community nature." The pixels that we play the game with and the voices that we hear in comms are very real to many of us. We form close bonds and friendships, many of which will eventually spawn real life friendships.
Depression is a huge issue throughout society and this event draws positive attention to it. I for one will do whatever I can do to help this event along. Whether you are Brave or one of the many alliances that doesn't like Brave doesn't matter. Just come in and join in. And while you're blowing up ships or collecting the mad ISK that will be flowing like water, just take a minute and think about those you know that may be in need of "Reps" Offer an ear to listen. If you are in need of reps, reach out to a friend.
I love this event. Let's blow each other up, have some fun and remember the fallen among us!

Thanks for putting this on Cagali.
Depression is something many in our community have experienced or are currently still going through. If there's anything I can do to help you with this event let me know. I'll do my best and inform the greater goon community as well as my folks in KarmaFleet. |

(Much love and respect for those human enough to give the fallen the respect they should get. Also to any of you who have lost friends, family, evebros you all have my love and sympathy. this game, this community needs to remember we all are humans. No matter where in the world we come from or what alliance we are with. We are all brothers/sisters in our love of eve. )
** from our recruitment forum thread and I also sent this via my corp mail**
Far to often we forget the human side of eve and our community. Today Brave has set about doing a 24 hours cyno vigil for all those who have fallen. I for one support these kind of events.
The pain of loss for those of us who live on past our fallen friends, and family can be very extreme. I would ask as many of you who can go visit the vigil help defend those cyno's for the fallen. One day you to will fall into the long night and may some one be it friend or family light a cyno for you through that long night.
I will take this time to point out two losses close to myself both in eve and out
I lost my mother at the age of 55 just this last august to an heart attack. I am deeply grateful for the fact that I was able to get one of the stations my former corporation built renamed in her honor GZ1-A1 VI - The Debbie Wagner Memorial. Even if some one else takes the system .. and I expect that to happen such is eve but, I would love to see the station name stay the same. Altho I can understand why that would be ignored such is eve.
SuperDarthy a dear friend to myself and many in PWN also was lost to us due to an tragedy. He is deeply missed by us who remember his laugh in the face of death pvp attitude and his signature navy slicer and nano harbi love. The man was a whirlwind and those of us lucky enough to know him always had a great time flying with him and just awesome conversations on teamspeak.
Always on Crusade!
