Ok I pose this question to you guys and ladies.
How do you manage spouse aggro.
I personally use active armor tanking by doing chores before being asked. I also throw in some passive shield tank by bringing various shiney trinkets and baubles home. Candy and a card acts very nicely as a tech 1 shield extender, dinner at a fine eatery gets you tech 2 shield modules.
One must be very carefull not to screw up because a spouse can bring to bear some pretty nasty DPS. Depending on the infraction the DPS can be compared to a t1 frigate all the way up to a Titans doomsday weapon.
So please tell about your domestic fits and how you go about FCing your spouse fleet. |

A gentle reminder about who works three jobs, pays for both houses, feeds and clothes both children and who likes to spend some time in a game to relax inbetween .. because they've earned it.
My other half comes from a previous relationship with an alcoholic who used to stagger home at 3am into the kids room, covered in blood, passing out on the floor as a regular occurrence. So putting up with a dedicated partner/parent who likes to game is kinda nothing. Keeps me off the streets.

Nothing beats finding the right kind of partner. Not necessarily the kind of partner that games as well, but the kind that is on the same wavelength as you, and is happy with you having your "me-time" doing your things while she's having her own "me-time" doing her things.
I've also had the experience in the past of having the wrong kind of partner (as a gamer), and it was an uphill battle that had to end at some point.

It's not a problem I have to deal with much, but the occasional reminder that I took up EVE in the first place because she had disappeared into Skyrim functions as effective ECM on the occasions when it's necessary.

As someone who had issues with his so, and is still working on some, communication is key. Best way to avoid the agro is to discuss the matter openly between you two and find a compromise. i.e. i can play eve 2 hours a night but i have to do x-y- and z first. or i can play every other day and spend the other day with you.
If you partner won;t work with you... then you got bigger problems. But talking it out is the best course. It maybe they just need something stupid simple to be happy. Or they could need something complex. But yea, talk.

Sometimes, the communication itself goes a long way.
The key word is "partner." If you're sharing your life with someone, then you don't get everything to yourself and a cherry on top. That's not sharing.

I count myself rather lucky to have found a woman with a sense of perspective.
One who knows that my entertainment activities that keep me in the house (video games), are rather preferable to my hanging out in sports bars filled with alcohol and loose women. Rather less expensive, too.

Best thing I think is to set up a daily routine. That way, everybody knows what to expect every day, and at what times of the day. "Alright, it's x:30, I'm going to check on my EVE. Be back at x:30." Nothing wrong with that. Nice daily do your own thing time for everybody.
What seems to cause the worst domestic aggro is having so much fun that you can't wait to log in again. Incremental creep in your daily logged in time. "OMG, I've lost my spouse, he/she is in some kind of 24-hour dark backgrounds and ugly spaceships trance!" Kind of understandable, no?
Anyway, the easy thing is work some game time into everybody's expectations for the day. Sitting in front of your computer at home with earphones on ain't too disruptive. Even less than being in a bowling/pool/darts league, hanging with friends at the bar, golfing, fishing, or being out of the house passing out Bibles.
My advice to you: Do not ever look up "worst guitar solo" on Youtube. You will be sorry. No joke. Really and truly sorry.
