Hi there, first post and all, if this is supposed to go in the New player Q&A answer section tell me and i can move it :3
I've started doing some Sisters of Eve missions after doing the epic arc mission line etc, however having some issues with the L3 agent for them.
Typically i have no problems completing the missions per-se (killing the ships and completing the objectives or whatever), i might lose a drone or two, or have to warp out and back in, but the agent has now started sending me into lowsec - the gate to go through is pretty continuously gate camped. I'm confident if i could actually get to the objective, i could complete it no worries, but that's only half the challenge, right?
Now, i have read a bunch of info online, google'd it and asked a few guys i know that play a EVE a bit higher end but i'm still having some trouble. Not sure if its because i have 650k SP onry, the ship i'm running isn't suitable, i just suck, or any combination of these.
Currently using a Vexor, with 150mm railguns, 10mn afterburner, med armor rep and is cap stable (when i offline the afterburner), drone damage amps etc (I'd link the fit but i don't know how :/). I've got enough to buy something better but still training a few level 5 skills to get into anything T2, and aside from that, i've been constantly told not to undock anything i can't afford to lose at least 5 times over, which is not something i could afford with a T2 ship + fit.
I guess my question is how do i get past the gate camp with a ship that is able to complete the mission, and still keep within a semi-newb budget? Or is this a sign i need to grind out some more L2's for ISK and wait for some more SP's to finish up so i can fly, and afford to fly something nicer? If i can avoid going back to L2's that would be fantastic, as the rewards are kinda ordinary, but if i have too, i will.
I'm open to anything constructive, but i'm still finding my way through online resources, otherwise i wouldn't ask!
Cheers! o7 |

I don't think you should be running level 3s right now. Level 3s are best run in a BC. You can run them in a cruiser but it can be very difficult and will be very slow.
If you have the isk you may be able to pull it off in a Gnosis (no BC skills required) but it is a though loss to take and you probably can't afford to lose it.
If you can't afford a Gnosis loss, I recommend sticking to level 2s for now until you can get into a BC.
As for the low-sec missions, you can train for a T2 cloak and utilize the MWD cloak trick and bring along a mobile depot so you can refit once you arrive at your destination, but TBH I usually just decline the missions that send you to low-sec as it is generally more efficient to do so.

I am about a month ahead of you. I did relic sites day tripping in wormholes in a cheap incursus, then I did some combat sites in a highsec pocket in a Vexor Navy, and then finally put myself into a Gila (pirate cruiser). I can do more combat exploration, or I can do L4's easy enough. Heck I'm doing a level 4 epic arc now in one.
Not a lot of friendly links or anything but if you wanna do the digging around, it is just how I've made things work so far. |

For the near future I would suggest staying out of low sec in a missions ship. I do however encourage you to take cheap frigate into low sec and explore around. Difference is the cost of the ship and how easy/difficult it would be for you to replace it.
BC as mentioned is good for level 3's and is the usual suggestion for a new player and I would encourage you to think about using one. On the other hand if you are comfortable in llvl 3's in a cruiser then you can always spend the ISK on better modules to make your cruiser better.
The sisters missions agents tend to send people into to low sec and without anything to prove this I believe it is intentional and done as a way to encourage new players to get out and explore / experience low sec and I am all for this. However as you found out the denizens of low sec in the area of the sisters agents are well aware of this fact and getting into and out of low sec to run these missions can be difficult. My suggestions is to move to another NPC and run missions there and build up a ship replacement fund and then go back and do the sisters missions, that way if you do get caught and lose a ship the loss does not place a hardship on your playing.
Edit And OI forgot all mission runners should have this link to help. http://eve-survival.org/wikka.php?wakka=missionreports |

Not sure if there is another SOE lvl3 agent, but you should move or decline the low sec ones. best is to go find someone running lvl4soe's and see if they will let you tag along in something like a battlecrusier. Otherwise just blitz the lvl2's till you can do lvl4's. Pirates know everyone aims to do lvl4 SOE missions and will camp that low sec gate like they have nothing else to do..

I was definitely aiming to do the level 4 SoE missions, but the only other L3 Agents are actually *in* lowsec, rather than 0.5 like this guy. For some reason the L4 agent is in 0.7?.. I'm yet to find a non NPC corp, so not able to really ask anyone yet... but a corp is on the to-do list
I was definitely planning on venturing into lowsec, just mucking around in a rookie ship or my old incursus just to check it out, but want to try and avoid common gatecamps so i can actually do something other than get podded lol.
I will probably take a look into doing some cosmic anomalies soon for a bit of variety, just doing a bit of reading on them now |

Just decline the missions which send you to lowsec. There's no good reason to be doing L3 security missions in lowsec.
The Sisters have a couple of L3 highsec distribution agents if you can't stand declining missions. The standing gain will be slower though. |

Gondista isn't camped all that often. Keep an eye on the map; look for recent kills. If there aren't any you should be alright. Having said that, the entire Genesis/Aridia border area seems hotter than usual, so definitely keep your guard up and dscan like crazy for combat probes. |

Risk vs Reward. If the reward isn't worth the risk, don't do it. The L3 mission reward doesn't outweigh the risk of losing your ship in lowsec. |
