As of April 17, YC 117, the Crown Humanitarian Aid Organization has begun Operation Hanoi.
The purpose of this Operation is to recover jettisoned slaves and illicit goods from the Amarr-Caldari Border. Any support to the Operation will be much appreciated.
For those who do not know, the CRHAO is an Amarrian humanitarian agency founded for the betterment of humanity. Recruitment is open. |

What exactly do you consider 'illicit goods'? |

I should have said this before, but all slaves will go through a week long process of deeming whether or not they are fully purified. Those deemed worthy will be transferred to the Disciples of Ston. Those deemed unworthy shall either be sold or kept by their rescuers. Any sold slaves shall only be sold to Holders or those permitted by the Empress to own or trade slaves. Furthermore, illicit goods is any good deemed unlegal by the Empire, the State, the Federation, or the Republic.
Any goods legal within the Empire shall be auctioned off to those who participated in the Operation. |

If tranferred to the Disciples of Ston, wherever they wanted. If deemed unworthy then back to the care of his or her rescuer or the Holder it was sold to. |

What are your criterias for that judgement ?
What imperial law makes you able to judge slaves that are not even yours, even if you were a Holder ? |

For one I am a Holder, and have been for nearly 50 years.
Also, the majority of these slaves were not legally owned by Imperial Law, as many were pirates or smugglers who did not want to be caught. As such, these slaves will be judged whether or not their owner properly purfied them and their family.
As previously stated, if the slaves are deemed purified then they will be transferred to the Disciples of Ston, where they will then be put into the Matriculation Program and then transferred to whever they wish to go as free men and women. Those not deemed purified will be kept by their rescuers (if the rescuer has the proper credentials to own and trade slaves), or will be auctioned out to Holders which participated in the operation, along with any legal goods recovered during the Operation.
If you are wondering why we are allowing the purified slaves to anywhere they want through the Matriculation Program and not simply releasing them into the Empire, it is so that they can recieve their educations or otherwise 'social' skills and manners.
Plans are under-way for a Center for former slaves, but for now the Disciples of Ston's Matriculation Program shall be used.
Any and all illicit goods shall be destroyed at several predetermined, undisclosed locations.
Also, if you wish to partake in Operation Hanoi, please send me a message and also turn in any rescued slaves.
Plans are also in development for compensation for those who take place in the operation.
Finally, please note that recruitment is still open. |

Is there a reason that you're starting your own initiative instead if working with other, previously established rescue efforts?
Also, if you're intending to use industrials for your rescue operations, I strongly recommend that you speak with others who are experienced in such matters. If only for the safety of those who you would be rescuing and the baseliner crews.

Thank you for the clarification.
I still wonder about those slaves that were previously not held by any imperial Holder, and that probably got enslaved elsewhere in the cluster through illegal means ?
Are those deemed systematically purified, or do you intend on keeping a few of them unpurified under your own care ? |

Miss Starfall, I have indeed considered and am working on your idea. Also please note that the Crown Humanitarian Aid Organization was not founded for this one operation. Operation Hanoi is simply our first large-scale, public operation. Also, I have indeed been into contact with others on the proper rescue procedures, and support in the Crown Huminitarian Aid Organization's operations. |

I'm fairly sure the reason he's started his own initiative and posted about it in the IGS is so that he can win brownie points with the capsuleer community. It's simple politics. "Look, guys, I'm so kind and nice, I'm saving these poor slaves. I know I've done a lot of morally disreputable things in the public sphere recently, so let me try to patch up my reputation with this idea I borrowed from another thread I saw on here." |
