Yulai hasn't been the Hub since before I started playing- and thats a good year ago. Jita is the biggy, with Ours and Rens trailing in the runner up positions. -----------------------------------------------

Not really. Yulai was a central hub that had no mission runners in it, meaning it was traders paradise. There was virtually no lag as virtually every ship was docked up or in the process of docking up, and it allowed you to get around space quickly.
With the removal of the highways, all the traffic that was in Yulai went to the mission running hubs (which were already good trade systems as it was), and of course the most popular mission running hub would get the most traffic.
So now we have Jita which can peak at over 700 people in the system, as opposed to Yulai's 100-200 (could probably bump that up to 200-400 due to more people now playing). Instead of going 10 jumps to get the best prices, you have to go over 20 (and a hell of a lot more than that if you pick the high-sec route). And finally, we have lag hell, because Jita not only has loads of idle traders but is also full of mission runners.
Bring back Yulai!!!

just make a trading system. Some system in the middle of space gets jumpgates to amarr, Pator, jita and ours. It has few belts and no agents are allowed in it. Than the empires arguing about whose territory it is and voila universe warz!!11

Yulai used to be a 'Jita' until it was changed and was no longer a center system between 5 different regions.
Today, Jita needs a miracle. I'm not sure the best way to go about it because people (including myself) like to sell stuff in one place where we know there will be lots of people. Decentralizing one hub only creates others, if you decentralize all hubs then people just stop selling stuff as it becomes too much of a hassle to travel.
If someone asked me to solve Jita's overcrowding the first thing i would do would be to remove all but maybe 2 connecting stargates. Then i'd remove 80% of the agents and 60% of the stations from there.
Jita's overcrowding is not just becase of trade. Trade just goes where the people are, and jita with all it stations, gates and agents is a traders utopia.

The obvious solution to hubs like Jita is to stop crowding excellent agents in highsec. I see no good reason why a quality 18 lvl 4 combat agent should be in the heart of an empire. I say make all Empire agents low-quality, and all high-quality low-sec.
Reasoning? Supply and demand all over again. If you're an agent, you have missions need running and a budget to pay them with. If you're an agent in Jita or Ours, you're swamped by hundreds of pilots daily, so you caould afford to pay alot less (that is, supply of pilots is high, so their value should drop). Futher more, how is it that in a system in the center of a galactic empire, every few seconds is a massive pirate fleet or enemy invasion? Ludicrous. Conversly, on the frontiers of low sec, you would presume that massive calamities would be frequent, away from the massive Faction and CONCORD fleet (demand for mission runners is high), while the number of wlling pilots is low (so supply is low).
Put simply, in Empire there are alot of pilots and shouldn't be amny calamities (high supply of pilots, low demand for them) and so pay (agent quality) shouldn't be great, while in low sec there are no pilots and lots of bad things (low supply, high demand) so they would be willing to pay alot more for services (high agent quality).
This might encourage a few Lvl4 mission runners to spread out a bit, if only to the edges of safe space for some mediocre quality agents. -----------------------------------------------

Totally with the OP on this one.
Couple of weeks back, was doing a few things in the south of the map and needed a coupla modules and some supplies.
"Ah!", thinks I, I'll nip into Yulai and get everything I need in one go, just like the old days when it was the ultimate cash and carry. Any module at any price, with multiple sellers geerating healthy market competition to give the best price.
I can remember rents for X-Ded being 100mil a month at one point, those days however are clearly long gone.
When I arrived, it was like a ghost town! There was me and one other pilot in the famous "X-Ded Assembly" station, whereas before it was pure chaos inside and out, now there was nothing.
One of those REALLY weird gaming moments thats hard to describe. In RL, its a bit like going to an old "pub/hangout/cinema" that you used to go to ALL the time, but when you go back, theres nothing but dusty relics and faded fittings. The place is the same it always was, but the people who used to be its lifeblood have moved on.
Never really had that happen in a virtual world before, very strange sensation........

Yulai it self was never changed, it became a back water system when the highways where removed. Once they where gone it apparently became such a big bother to go there, so it's more of a ghost town now..
Ļon Trinity is recruting, inquire within for details lyret dedreen

Jita will look like that at one point in the future.
Eve evolve and it's a good thing.
Side note: I would vote to have a Jita Death Day. Let's say friday november 24, exclusively for one day, the security level of the system would be, 0.2. Since it's an hub so central, it must be hard to go around it. Pilot would need a JDD key given by npc in ships in front of each gate to Jita so that people on autopilot that don't get the sec warning would be informed. The JDD key would be free, only have to talk to the 'agent' and then have it in cargo to jump. |

Yulai used to be a great trading hub, it had everything u wanted and usually fairly priced... now it's dead, last time i passed through it there were like 9 peeps in local and this was on prime time.
Then again, i also try to avoid other hubs as much as possible.
CCP, build overpasses around ours, rens and Jita. Banner will be updated shortly |
