I have a problem.
I lost standings to a specific agent. My standings went down to -3.07 (Bad) due to multiple times of declining missions consecutively (which i didn't do, a person who had access to my account messed around with it intentionally to spite me - its the wife). My standings for that faction is 8.77 (excellent). My particular social skills are at 5s and 4s. How do i raise my standing to that particular agent when i am unable to carry out missions for him.
Your help will be appreciated immensely. |

Well, first and foremost, nobody is supposed to access your account. Nobody. Now delete this post before you get yourself into a position where you need to divorce your wife for getting your account banned. |

fleet up with someone who can run missions from that agent, and a few positive transactions will likely put you back into greater than -2 standing to that agent. It seriously amazes me how fast negative standings can be fixed.
if it is a caldari/amarr/SoE agent I may be willing to help.

Use a different agent perhaps?
Also I don't know if ccp would ban you for your wife managing to access the account, afterall, what happens if the account is payed for from a joint account?
My ex was able to guess most of my passwords, after we separated I had to completely change my approach to making paswords to secure my stuff. |

I concur, fleet up with another person who's running that agent. Just hang out in that agents system and ask in local chat. Eventually someone will reply. Either that or use an alt character to gain access.
One last thing, in the future don't decline more than 1 mission from an agent within the 4 hour timer. Just let it sit in your Journal and go work for another agent during the 4 hr timer.

I abuse the hell out of the decline system. Only take missions I feel like doing, do so many story line missions my faction just keeps going up, My agent standing takes a bit of a roller coaster ride also corp standings to slightly lesser extent. If I ever burn my standings out I have alts that can take missions too, so I'm not too worried about it. Biggest con I've found so far is cashing out all the LP.

Obviously most older characters / players will have standings and skills high enough to do that without being affected by the consenquences.
However, newer players and others with low amount of standings and skill level can be greatly affected by those consenquences. As such I think it's best to promote a precautionary warning instead of a boastful risk free statement.
Anyway, my reply still stands - in the future don't decline more than 1 mission from an agent within the 4 hour timer. Just let it sit in the Journal and go work for another agent during the 4 hr timer.

I have connections lv2 and social lv4, the skills part is a joke. my faction standings on the other hand are awesome. my first goal for standings was 8.0 with caldari navy as we had corp jumpclones once upon a time, and my second goal was 5.0 caldari faction standings as we wanted to put a pos up. back in the day I was one hell of a grinder and well, I passed most of my higher sp corpmates.
although I do suppose skills in the terms of ships I can use and afford to run in missions in gives me a near optimal time to complete.
Even so when grinding standings for a new corp I suggest limited use of additional declines. to completely forgo the use of declines and sitting around doing nothing for 4 hours just isn't worth it. also mitigating standings losses, by taking some kill missions but not all, is another tactic that I suggest as running a few anti faction missions really isn't going to do a whole lot in the big picture. and many missions have very limited kill requirements so you only take a very small hit by running them. and if you have a mind for it keeping up standings by running for different factions can very easily cancel each other out on the low end. Honestly a few SoE storylines and I could go run gallente missions. I've been killing gallente NPCs for most of my 8 years in eve, and never run a gallente mission.
yes it isn't a blanket statement, but imo 5.0 standings for lv4s is a really low bar. I've heard talk about removing standings, which for a long time I was against as I had really high standings, but these days I don't really see a point to standings. when grinding with a new corp I have used declines and extra declines and had a net standings gain.
security connections 5 for max LP payout and negotiation 5 to agent payout, are nice bonuses but don't do anything for standings.
