I might imagine that a lot of people keep their dread setups tight lipped, but if anyone is willing to post, I would be most appreciative. I haven't been able to find anything on dread setups other than arguments about the hitting power of each of the dreads.
I am going "shopping" for my dread parts and I would love to know where to spend all my isk... :)

Maybe you could give a few more details...
What are you going to use it for? What are your budget?
etc. etc.

Actually I would like to use it for POS busting or for taking out carriers in fleet ops. It would likely be supported by at least 4-5 BS's otherwise I probably won't be un-docking the sucker..
Thanks for the link but this setup makes me wonder if it will do the job. Thoughts? My Setup
Highs: 3xLaunchers 1xSiege Module (Any or is there a specific module you would use?)
Med: Capital Shield 1 Shield Amp EM Hardener 1 x 30km Strength 2 Warp Scrambler (Don't need this) 1 x 15km 90% Web (or this) 1 x Sensor Booster 2
Lows: 5xPower Diagnostic II:s

Oh and as for budget, I have plenty of isk. Unless 400-500mil isn't enough! But I do like to be reasonable... There is always lots of goodies to spend that on...

might want to fit something in that 7th med slot, and I'd personally leave away the scrambler and the web, fit 2 extra cap recharger and an invul II

Citadel Launcher x 3 Siege Module x 1
Capital Booster x 1 Boost Amp x 1 Invul x 2 EM x 1 Cap Recharger x 2
PDU x 2
Spend as much on each module as possible.

As far as I understood it you wont be able to use webs and scrams when activating siege mod.
Never tried it though.
And if not in siege those torps wont do much dammage.

If you have 4-5 BS with you, You might want a better tank, and leave tackling to them. Siege mode is uber and all, but if all you have is an EM hardener, your tank is going to get pounded pretty fast.

yup this setup works well.

A harderner also only works against ships firing on you. ECM is effeciently a harderner for your whole gang/fleet.

If I had a Phoenix, this is how I'd fit it.
Highs: 3x Citadel Launchers 1x Siege Module
Meds: 1x Tobias' Modified Stasis Webifier (40km, 75%) 1x Tobias' Modified Warp Scrambler (2 Strength, 40 km) 2x Estamel's Modified Invulnerability Field (50% all resists) 1x Capital Shield Booster 1x Estamel's Modified Shield Boost Amplifier (45% bonus) 1x Sensor Booster II
Lows 5x PDS II
It'd be expensive as hell, but man, would it be a solopwnmobile.

If you plan on using scramblers/webs on a dread you're doing something wrong.
Only thing other than shield related stuff in your medslots should be a sensorbooster or a cap recharger.

3x Citadel Launcher I 1x Siege Module I
1x Capital Shield Booster I 1x DG Shield Boost Amp 1x DG Photon Scattering Field 1x DG Heat Dissipation Field 1x DG Invulnerability Field 2x Cap Rechargers T2
2x DG BCS or 2x BCS T2 (they fit but just barely) 2x PDS T2 1x Internal Force Field Array I
Resistances
EM 73.15 % EX 77.88 % KN 66.81 % TM 78.52 %
Yeah it costed a ton, but if you are going to fly a capital ship might as well do it right.

scramblers and webbers on dreadnoughts? this forum is getting wierder every day.
dreadnoughts make real crappy tacklers, get someone else to do that. and make your tackler have double webs.
you start hunting with a dread with tackling gear on it and someone will jump an actual dread ready for fighting on you and you will melt. my advice to you is worry only about defense as the offense of dreads is fine. get the best hardeners you can afford, and find some officer powerdiags to run your tank indefinately.

Edited by: Arimai on 05/11/2006 15:30:16 Ideal EVE: Shieldtank, 2 BCU II, PDU II's + a 25% cpr
Today's cluster: Siege Module I 3x Citadel Torpedo Launcher I
6x Cap Recharger II 'Hypnos' Multispectral ECM I
Capital Armor Repairer I Core X-Type Armor Explosive Hardener Core X-Type Armor Kinetic Hardener Core X-Type Armor Thermic Hardener 'Radical' Damage Control I/Corpum A-type EANM (depending on preference & mechanic skills. Some people prefer DC even though EANM will give more absolute hp, esp after capital ship hp boost)
Multi is because you cant use the extra can you'd get with a 7th cap recharger. Slightly better but highly unsustainable tank by going 2x eanm + damage control + 2nd rep. Slightly increased dps by adding a heat sink, but imho not the way to go on dreads because of the small benefit it gives in time needed to siege a pos (3 cycles = easy, and according to your story you probably wont have the amount of dreads to put a pos into reinforced in 2 cycles)
I implied hardened pos.

Nope. Noone will be able to web or scram a dread or target paint, but the dread can use every module.

Interdictor/Anchored bubbles will catch it though. Further you can easily be scrambled in the time it takes you to jump out after siege mode ends. Setting zero speed before you enter siege will make it harder for the enemy to spot when you leave siege mode.

Dreads can be warp scrambled when they aren't in siege mode, 'course dropping a bubble on them works just as well.
