Edited by: zombu2 on 03/11/2006 04:44:36 well long story short me and somebody else just got banned from coldfront complaining about a dj playing music for himself instead of listening to the people listening to it and i think we have every right to say our opinion
instead he said he plays what he wants and not what we would like to hear he didn t even know what he was playing and he was driving the listeners away the whole irc chat was quiet
we complained and got banned this is really the dumbest thing i ve ever seen other dj got kicked for much less
if he wants to play music for himself he schould use his own mp3 player
oh and congrats to the channel admin good work for ****ing the users off i think with our donations you guys are on air
sorry for my bad english

Maybe just maybe you should goto their website and cry...
They are only loosely affiliated with eve-online. Eve-Online has no control over the content of Eve Radio. It is strictly player controled.

Your version of the facts... aren't necessarily the real facts.
I think maybe you should research eve radio a little more and then you might figure out that YES the DJ can play whatever he wants, whenever he wants.
So go ahead and cry. CK1 Recruitment Link |

Eve Radio are hacks anyway, if you want to see a truely dedicated team of shoutcast radio hosts..take a look at TSN, or the Tribes SHOUTcast Network, which later became known as the Team Sportscast Network. Back in there hayday when that game actually rocked they basically controlled the airwaves and made sure to keep there listeners happy

ER has basicaly nothing to do with EVE, and even if it has, you can stop listening at it. That's what I do. Sometimes they play ok music, sometimes I dont like it. Sometimes the DJ sounds cool, sometimes his/her voice is TERRIBLE. But they do whatever they want as it is their little thingy, so if you dont like it, the best you can do is listen to you mp3 or to another internet radio.

Edited by: zombu2 on 03/11/2006 14:16:29 thats exactly what i do stop listening to it usually i don t care if they sound like a smurf or a 8 year old kid there is a bunch of cool dj s there but yesterday it was horrible and a bunch of people got banned from coldfront
I say stop listening to because they don t care what you want and stop giving donations to them maybe it wakes them up when they run out of money to run their little clown show
i will defenetly try out the other radio station thnx for the info
BTW whats the adress to tsn???

I tend to listen to Digitally Imported (link), both when I'm in work and when playing EvE at home.....take your pick as to which channel you listen to, there are plenty on there!

Edited by: zombu2 on 03/11/2006 14:25:00 yep digitally imported is really good too bad i am not allowed to listen to it at work no more
and yes ignorance arogance that what most of the dj s and chatadmins have a lot of i will exclude the following dj s DJ Stone BlueEyes DJ Cake (maybe) other then that they are allowed to curse at the listeners in chat and when we say that what he s playing is the worst g*y 80's music and we get banned for it The low uptime is user related

I don't mind the music so much, its their show after all.. they can play what they like. What bothers me is that many seem unable to string a sentence together. Somehow these DJs end up hosting and giving commentary on EVETV, too.
Oh and their ingame knowledge is surprisingly lacking, during both tournaments I spend half the time cringing at their sheer ignorance.

Very true, in your own channel. If somebody dont likes what you say or even dont like your name he has the right to kick you out.
A IRC channel is not a public institution and you have only those right that are given to you by the server provider or those who are entitled by the provider. To make it short ops == god. -- $ perl -n -e 'print "Stop blameing pirates! Oveur is the root of all evil!\n" if m/podkill|lost my ship|gank|gate camp|Verone/;'

well of the three DJs you nominated, one has been a DJ about three days, and the other isn't a DJ, but in fact the myspace friend of DJ Knight.
That said, the best DJs have left over the last few months. some on to bigger and better things, some because of the ****ypants way the site is run internally and to the public

It's a radio station (web based), and as such they'll play what they want to play, not what listeners ORDER them to play. Don't like it? Turn the dial elsewhere.
I'm not saying I think the music they play there is perfect or the DJs are all nice people, but donations don't entitle you to the royal treatment when you tune in. And in my time in the EVE Radio IRC channel, you'd have to be doing something incredible to stand out from the typical crap that goes on in there and get yourself booted.

yeah sure we where the only 3 in the chat after the great dj drove everybody away sure you stand out when there is nobody else and no i dont want special treatment for ppl that donate but those ppl are the ppl that keep their little show alive ergo they need us to keep the show going it doesn t help when you kick em The low uptime is user related

Sorry but I have to say, I was in the channel last night when you and Zero were 'getting shouted at' by a DJ, and your version of events could not be further from the truth. You weren't requesting songs in a polite manner and being shouted at at all - you were insulting the DJ and giving him a hard time telling him he was an awful DJ and shouting at other DJs to take him off the air. That is why they banned you. You have the right to an opinion, but you don't have the right to express your opinion in an aggressive and insulting manner. __________________________________________________
