After spending a long time running missions I'm bored and want new ways to earn ISK and have fun, so I was thinking about start running combat sites, at the first moment I don't want to go to low sec/ null sec, so how is the ISK of combat sites in 0.5 system compared with L4 missions? I think they probably give less ISK than L4 but how much less? I'ts worth the try or is just a waste of time and combat sites are really just worth in low/null sec?
Thanks. |

The problem is not the amount you "could" make, it is the amount you will make. If highsec was empty it would be great but highsec is densely populated and there are plenty of people trying to do the same thing as you. Most of them are probably much more efficient at it and will beat you to the drop. So if competing for the drop is something you are in to, then it can be fun.

I all depends on the loot drop, it can vary from 2 to 200 million isk for for 10 minutes work. You can hit lucky streaks a net a billion in a few days/week, then there are days and days where you find nothing, and what you do find drops nothing a great value.
In high-sec the competition is fierce, you'll be lucky to spend a few minutes in a site before you have company, it then becomes a race to get the faction ship kill and thus the loots, so that a 50/50 bet and it gets lower the more players that swamp the site.
Imho, if you looking to make isk, do it in low-sec. Nowhere near as much competition in some very very empty systems. |

It is less unless you run the DED 5/10 sites. Serpentis Warehouse for example can net you 30 million - 1million but these sites tend to be in low or null.
However I will say it is a nice alternative to running missions. I'm not big fan of going to low/null doing these sites because the instant I'm there combats probes are out snooping for my PVE fitted ship. It Takes the pvp player a few seconds to probe down 10-20 minutes worth of PVE content.

There's also the option of day-tripping
C1 & C2 wormholes, possibly C3 too. |

Sleepers AI could prove to be a really problem? Never went to WH space.
Also if going to low/null to run combat sites going with a BS would be to ask to get shoot, what ship is recommended to this work? T2 cruisers? BC? Command ships? I think that a under-BS is the way to go, right? |

C2 isn't really worth the time, you get like 12m per site. C3 is a lot better and most people run that in a tengu for solo and cost efficiency but it's rather slow.
If you can dual box then ishtars makes it a bit faster and you could go for a battleship as well but that's risky since it's slow to get out. |

Back in the day, I used 'this' to pretty good effect, minus the Sisters Launcher it's somewhere around the 20 mill mark. How this ship performs today I have no idea, but back then it was a pretty good stepping stone ship for me, effective* at a very low cost in Data/Relic and upto 4/10's. (some people similarly fit a Vexor)
*effective because drones do all the work leaving you free to keep aligned and d-scanning. It's like learning to walk before you can run. |

i use a stratios for 4/10's down, and a t3 for higher. and i do my exploration in low-sec.
my suggestion would be fit a t1 cruiser and throw a probe launcher on it, goto low and try it. against l4 missions you may be a little disappointed, in a week(i play maybe 10 hours), ill make about 200 million, but ive made 180 mil in one day. its kinda like the lottery.
this is whats fun for me, if you stop making it about the isk its way more fun and you are more likely to try something you normally wouldnt. i will also argue that going to wormholes is probably less safe than low-sec. im in a wormhole corp and we get more interaction in our wormhole than i get when im in low-sec. |
