A lot of people have been screaming apparently about how Mexallon is this impossible to get material.
To start, it's already in Arkonor. 1278 per rock. Yeah, its yield isn't super high. But living in Gallente space, Mexallon is now going to be IMPOSSIBLE to find without a truesec that yields Arkonor rocks on a regular basis.
Yes, I'm talking about belt mining. Let's examine this little chart here I threw together that shows the new mineral distribution for ores: http://i.imgur.com/nk2FVIw.png
To show contrast, here me after mining solo for a couple days: http://i.imgur.com/otRmRO5.png
Note the extremely low values of Isogen, Megacyte and Mexallon. Now look back to the first chart posted. Isogen may very well be fixed via Dark Ochre. Megacyte is going to be a struggle, but possible (Bistot) and Mexallon is non-existent.
I took the minerals required to build a Covetor and doubled the Zydrine and Megacyte consumption (as CCP stated they'd be doing.) I think the Covetor is sort of a gold standard for mineral distribution, anyway, so it makes a good shakedown for this discussion.

After Tritanium and Pyerite we're looking at a generous need for Isogen and Mexallon. The problem is that Mexallon (which was what this whole rebalance was intended to fix) is very difficult to source, requiring us to hit Jaspet. Jaspet? Come on, CCP. If we're 8:1 on Jaspet, yes we will yield 2800 Mexallon but that pushes our already high yields of Nocx and Zydrine over the top. So then we're realistically bottoming out on Pyerite which requires us to mine a large volume of Bistot. Add 3-4 Megacyte to Jaspet and I think I'd be happy mining Jaspet all day long. Hemorphite was king for so long because of its catch-all qualities, and now no ore will shine. But even with these changes you could knock the Nocxium down a bit in Jaspet and add a smidgen of Megacyte and then I'd say we're looking at fairly balanced ore compositions.
This shows changes that are being made, and in my opinion these changes actually contort the perceived value of mining: to be able to produce and manufacture goods. In Gallente space we do not have access to Spod or Gneiss, but all the Mexallon has been shifted into these two lower-end ores. Arkonor is extremely unwieldy, and its m3 to reprocessing value is low. Despite that, it still yields Mexallon, but only in truesec that as I understand is -0.7 or better.
So. CCP, where is the Mexallon for people with truesec of -0.6 or higher? Jaspet? LOL.
Also WHERE IS THE SPODUMAIN CCP? Every region but Gallente space! No love for Gallente!
