Pretty exciting stuff.
If they recreate the effect in a vacuum which it looks like they will, it's the most significant scientific breakthrough in history.

Didn't thy have an experimental drive that does 30mph quite a while ago? Small scale test, but still....
Gotta read this!
Bumping is fine, Ganking is fine.
The real issue are Carebears. Bad people wishing ill and death upon on all of us.
The obvious solution is to wipe them out and make sure they don't come back.
Let's kill them all for the good of EVEmanity.

And... it works in hard vacuum! http://www.nasaspaceflight.com/2015/04/evaluating-nasas-futuristic-em-drive/
The implications are already pretty stunning: - New station-keeping thrustors (*cough* impulse drive *cough*) for the ISS, no need for reboost maneuvers from visiting orbiters. - Earth-to-moon flights in 4 hours. - Earth-to-Mars missions with 70-day transit times - 130 year transit time to Alpha Centauri, a probe launched soon would return data in three generations instead of thousands of years

Stupid question. Do split photons keep their momentum?
Like, when you send a photon through a half transparent mirror and "create" two entangled ones.
Also this stuff reminds me so much of a conspiracy theory (I think) that's so old I barely remember. Basically that a proper propulsion system based on light blabla something something LOTS OF DIAMONDS and high rpm rotation or something.

AFAIK you can't split a photon, you can only absorb or emit it.

AFAIK you can't split a photon, you can only absorb or emit it. I wonder what happends if you duplicate it by placing it in to the state of quantum super position. Does it have double kinetic energy or what?
There were some experiments where the single photon reached two places (And you could see the end results on the wall)

If it really works (where it == "propellant-less engine",) then it just became possible for a small corporate entity to destroy civilization on Earth.
Build lots of these no-fuel-necessary missiles, send them waaaaaaaay out, flip them around and accelerate them back into Earth's path, i.e. kinetic missiles that hit earth with mega(giga?)-tonnes of force.
