Unfortunately still freezing with latest update. Also now intermittently crashes on the MBP so the bug is very inconsistent.

Client v13.05.903157 Yosemite 10.10.3 Same here, but my client claims to be version 13.04.904005. I had thought the problem was related to running Windows 7 in Parallels concurrently with EVE, but I tried it without Parallels running and it still freezes.
This has gone on long enough.

I'm having the same issue. IGB freezes everything but the cursor and I can't even force quit the program or tab out of it to another program. |

Ive stayed away from the IGB due to all the complaints here. But today I decided to try it and see for my self. It worked! No crash, or any other issues.

It was more than 10 minutes after launch, but I was not doing anything. Ill continue testing. Maybe it works for me because of 10.9.5?

If I remember correctly I think we have the same (ish) MBP. I'm running 10.10.2 The IGB will crash the system but only very occasionally. But even when it doesn't crash I can tell the system bogs down for a bit when I do launch it. There's a pause in the game where it comes close to crashing but makes it through. |

I really really hope it will be fixed today with Aeghis.2 ... I believe that if it isn't it will just never be. That has been there for so long now. The bug is random and I have like 90% chance of opening the browser without crash if I do it immediately at log in. Should I fail to do so or should I close it for some time then I'm pretty much sure to have a crash when I open/reopen it. |

Adding to the list: same problem here.
Generally, I find that if I do something BEFORE using the browser -- flying around, launching probes -- the browser won't freeze. But it's not fullproof.

Throwing my hat into the ring as well. Ingame browser works 50% of the time for me. Otherwise it will freeze my client and I will have to re-launch.
For those who can't re-launch the client: If your comp is not totally frozen and you still have access to the activity monitor, force quit the 'wineserver' process using activity monitor. I've found that it often stays frozen after an eve crash and force-quit and prevents me from re-opening the game. If you force quit 'winserver' it should save you from having to re-boot your comp.
Anyway, I'm a frequent user of Tripwire and not being able to use the IGB and have tripwire follow me is very annoying.
CCP, please get on fixing this issue. It's been months. |

Hi,
you dont need to restart your mac. Just close all eve windows and use mac "activty monitor" to kill all "wineserver" processes and every remaining "eve online" processes.
After this you can restart eve with 100% succes rate. |

Wrong. It freezes the entire Mac. The keyboard and mouse do not respond. You cannot open activity monitor when you can't move your mouse and the keyboard does not work. |

Add me to the list as having issues. I had no problems with a slightly older imac, but when I got a new retina imac with Yosemite, the ingame browser goes out to lunch 80% of the time and comes up with a black screen. If I attempt to close it, it will hang the process and I have to force quit eve. I usually have to reboot the mac at the point for eve to work again, but I'll try the activity monitor and killing eve/wine processes |

Interesting note, I get this crash when opening the browser about 20% of the time on TQ, but 'm getting it 100% of the time on Sisi.
Also any update on this CCP? It's literally been MONTHS agains since you sent this issue to your 'partners' along with the ship cloaking bug, and we've got nothing not even any info back yet. Does your 'partners' still even exist?
CCP How long do you think it's reasonable for your "partners" to take to fix one or two major bugs? Weeks, months, years? Ever? |

I have this problem. When I open the game for the first time in a day, opening the browser freezes it. I have to force quit the client, quit the wineserver, and then restart the client. The browser usually works after that. I've been spending a lot of time in wormholes lately, so I need the browser for the mapper, otherwise I wouldn't use it. |

I notice that when someone gives me a URL the game freezes.. Mouse still moves but I cannot Alt+tab out of the game to close it.. I have to hold down the power button and restart the computer.
Is there a way to force close the game at that point? REALLLY fustrating.. been going on for a while. |

So seriously CCP it's really time for a statement on this (and a few other Mac problems).
From the CSM summit notes on page 1 FoxFour talks about CCP wanting to kill the IGB sooner rather than latter. Fine, whatever I'm not getting into that debate. BUT as FoxFour mentions there is a lot of functionality and tools that still needs to be added to CREST before you can remove the IGB, but you will not work on the IGB at all anymore.
Great, but this is now begging the question... are you even trying to fix the crashing Mac IGB at all while we wait for the new CREST tools?
Or have your Mac users just been abandoned early while the rest of EVE gets to still use the IGB and it's related tools while they wait for CREST to catch up? |
