In the course of playing as a new player, I have been using the venture for the last few days and found it a bit lacking. It is in my opinion that the venture should receive a single missile launcher hard point. That is not to say add another high slot, it is just simply a suggestion to increase the defensive possibilities. Yes I am aware that venture already has a drone bay, however only Gallente uses drones as a primary weapon. As there are already 2 turret hard points there is no need to add a third. But, as I already stated the single missile launcher hard point will make a difference for those that decide to stick with it for the initial trial period and beyond - especially seeing as the venture has a lower EHP than the rookie ships. |

I can't see this harming anything, and it does provide utility for newer folks who train into missiles. +1 from me. |

Seriously, every race uses drones. Train them.
EvE is hard. It's harder if you're stupid.
I couldn't have said it better.

What threat are you trying to defeat? Npc rats on belts? Your drones would take care of them easily. If you have a ganker up to you it's done deal. Plus it's extra pressure on your fitting abilities cpu/pg. |

Probably doesn't want to have to train drones and guns to fit out his venture while at the same time training missiles to fit out his future PVE ship.
Ganker comment is irrelevant
CPU/PG have ship fittings which the venture can use to facilitate the fitting needs of size appropriate module he may or may not choose to use.
It literally has 0 impact on anything, makes sense for a newbro focused ship, and should be implemented. Heck give it 2 launchers, so you can choose to use 2 turrets 2 launchers 2 miners 2 salvagers or 2 drones depending on what you train to. Nothing wrong with a versatile newbie friendly boat. |

Well, i could say that your comment that someone doesn't want to train some skils antd that is why devs should add launcher point to mining frig is more irrelivant than mine about gank. No doubt with that one.
It is not a learning platform to decide what weapon system to learn, it's a newbe friendly mining platform. You have all the frigs of all race to think about and pick up what you want.
Not sure how this would prevent you from learning any other skills while you using it for the main purpose. With same logic i could go ahead and ask launchers points fo gal's ships jusg because i don't like to train drones but i like these ships much and it would be simply amazing having launcher points installed. |

Initially I thought why not but then changed my mind. It is a mining ship plain and simple. If you expect real combat risks take a combat ship with launchers. If you can only fly tech I then pirate ships are your friend. Leave a mining ship as is since a new player thinking they can fit it for any kind of combat other than bait or battle venture roam is being misled and set up for dissapointment/rage quit. |

I'd say with regards to this EvE is about ships that have specific fit advantages and secondary uses. In the case of the venture this is a mining ship and can fit a turret if you really want.no need to make it a one ship fits all weapon systems type vessel. No new miner should fit a turret anyway as it cripples their yield for no defensive benefit. The venture benefit os in being able to bravely run away if an attacker doesn't bring enough scram. Battle ventures are an amusing novelty... |

So many old players in this thread who have forgotten what it was like having a million different skills of equal priority to train, of all the badfits they used before they knew better. Maybe the newbie wants to splash rats with the launcher whilst using mining drones to eek out that small bit extra isk.
A ship like this, if it has a turret slot, it should have a missile slot. It's not like there's a sister ship for newbies with a launcher as an alternative, is there?
There's no demonstrable harm or balance upset and accessibility increases for newbros. [iWhy not[/i]? |

I support this, I really like the idea of 2 launchers.
We must keep in mind that since this is a newbie friendly ship, we should give it the catch all (in terms of weapon slot types) so corps with day 1 newbies can give an all in one starter package that WON"T needlessly confuse the new players. The ship bonuses should be left untouched, since they are perfect for the hull. The two extra launchers will really not make THAT much of a difference combat wise, it will open up more options for new players to try out the different weapons on a ship they will be most comfortable with before they branch out.
We all must also keep in mind, this is a ship most new players will not stick with for the long haul, probably 1-2 weeks at most. I personally use the venture as a ship of choice to introduce new players to pvp and wh space. It is cheap, an easy ship for new players to be fully engaged in roams, a go to ship for new players to mine ore and gas (especially the gas in wh's, had a few new players get excited when they escape the hostile players, the good excited), and best of all, they have fun.
Trust me on this, you want to impress a newbie in pvp? Get them inside a venture, a civ blaster, and sensor boosted and have them camp a gate with 50 light drones assisted to them. Then upgrade to sentries for the hammer of god feels it will give them. Gets them engaged, they have fun, doesn't require wait days if not months to be really useful, and it helps prevents new players from being locked into high sec with that fear of low/null sec. |

If people get accustomed to a ship that can use all weapon systems equally well/badly, they get to think that an Omen should be able to use launchers as well or an Inquisitor. Or that a Megathron should be able to fit full launchers. Or a Tengu with Lasers. We should all know in what kind of badly fitted ships this usually ends up on the killboards.

With the ability to leap like that, I foresee a future where you represent your country in the summer Olympics.
Seriously, you think that if a new person gets to fit one unbonused missile launcher to one particular mining ship that they probably won't use for that long (training time to barges isn't that long), that suddenly they're going to expect or demand all ships carry all things? Even if such a thing were to happen, which is unlikely because people generally want to use bonused systems for their ships, it's a problem that will correct itself in very short order either from future corpmates or future lossmails. Not a big deal.
Give 'em the launcher if they really want it.
Let's discuss overhauling the way we get intel in EvE.

Yes, I absolutely know that people are as dense as I depict them. Hilarious loss mails speak for themselves.
Yes, people want bonused weapon systems on their ships. My post gives away that these people then come to think ships should provide bonuses for several different weapon systems. And CCP might even listen.

You guys do realise there is a reason they went with 2 turret hardpoint and bonus to mining as opposed to many turret hardpoint without bonus right?
People complained about that after seeing the arts of venture with 3 mining lasers and CCP said it didn't want a 3 weapon slot on it. |

ORE doesn't like launchers!, train up the drone skills, even caldari boats use them..... also, it's not a trial boat, that's the rookie ships that sell for dirt-cheap......
I think rookie ships ought to get a bonus to mining yield below venture but something that allows them to mine a bit.....
For posting an idea into F&I:
come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it.....
