For tech 1, it's relatively straightforward. If the systems are that active, look at ammo. That's the usual recommendation for a new industrialist; the blueprints are relatively inexpensive and the product demand is steady. Look at your killboard, which tech 1 ships are lost on your side? If most of the losses are replaced from a corp or alliance hangar versus personal purchase, then can you sell to the corp or alliance to compete with the fuel cost of jump freighters or whoever else is building locally? If everyone pilots tech 2 ships, then see if there is any local producer of the tech 2 ships who is willing to buy the base tech 1 ship from you (but with enough alts and factory slots, that person may not have any reason to let your profit subtract from theirs if they can handle all the manufacturing lines). |

Build what sells? I don't know what's difficult to understand about that. Every market is different.look at the market, see what has decent profit margin and is worth the time it takes to construct. |

Typically ammo and t1 cruisers and bcs are popular. Bombs if there isn't already a supplier. Capital stuff is more controlled and slow turnover.
You just need to research your area.

Rig market is worth checking. Prices for non doctrine rigs may be excessive or some potentially popular rigs may not be available in your system. |

Back when I was a full-time pvper I would stock what I flew. I did more of an import business than production, but the concept holds. Back then I was importing Vagabonds, Sabres and Zealots and their fittings by the fistful. Oh and be prepared for how you should assume all the risk and sell at Jita plus 5%.

The key for a successful manufacturing project is knowing the demand of the hub. Look around what people fly and you'll find your answer |
