i have some questions about how to set up a claw.
i recently got pretty much spanked by a crow since there was no way for me to do anything exept wait to blow up. (out of autocannon range )
so here is my new setup id like to try out when i got all skills for it .
3 150mm autocannons II with barrage 1 random misile launcher with sabretooth gold gas MWD , faint epsilon warp prohibitor 400MM RT plate , MAPC , cap relay , triple sheated nano .
i wanted an MWD on it to catch up with other frig sized vessels with an AB or atleast get out jammer range.
will i be able to dodge med turrets even with the MWD sig bonus?
what would help my tank better a small repper II or a triple sheated adaptive nano plating?
i'm open for all possible suggestions/help but keep in mind my goal is to be versatile and be able to kill upto cruisers or even BC and not to be a simple anti crow machine

Edited by: Daos Leghki on 08/11/2006 16:26:51 I fly a claw, so here are some things you've got to understand:
You will not kill a well-setup cruiser with webs, nos and drones. It just won't happen, not solo anyway.
The 400mm plate is a good general purpose setup, useful for most assault frigs, etc. It slows you down and makes you less useful in killing crows. Against those, fit a passive kinetic deflection amp.
Your missile launcher can be substituted for a rocket launcher.
For most things, burst the MWD to get in range, orbit close and maintain traversal. Their guns won't hit you but watch out for nos, web and drones.
I currently fly:
3x150 AC IIs, 1x NOS <--can be a rocket launcher cold gas MWD (could be a MWDII or Gistii), warp scrambler Small armor rep II, 200mm rt plate, damage control, cap power relay.
PS, check this forum out.

1 extra question does that nos allow u to actually use your rep in fight or is it just there to regen armor between fights?

NOS is there to keep your tank atleast a bit running and to kill the cap of your oppononent ___________________

If you're running the MWD, no chance of using rep....maybe you'll get once cycle off if you have better skills than me.....If you're not using MWD continuously (fighting a non-interceptor) you might rep once or twice. It's nice, but mostly for repping between fights.
The nos is there to kill your opponent's cap. It's also used to make sure you can still scramble when you're being nossed by a larger ship. If you're looking to kill things solo, you may be better served by a rocket launcher.

The below setup is teh pwn. if you fit anything else you have already lost.
1 x Small Dim Nos 3 x 150mm II w/Barrage S
1 x 1mn MWD II 1 x X5 Webifier
1x Small Armor Repairer II 1x 200mm Rolled Tungsten 1x Gyrostabilizer II 1x Dark Blood/True Sansha Magnetic Plating (<- Cheap as hell faction kenetic plate, I have like 30 of these all bought at under 3m each.)
P.S. If you're looking to tackle, just get a Stiletto already.

Also a kinetic plate fan. I actually have a faction one on my claw now but its domi and stats are same as t2. :(

been fidling with quikfit and why not try something like this?
highs : 3.150's or even 200's II and a rocket launcher
meds : faint epsilon warp prohibitor and cold gas MWD
lows : cap relay , 200mm rt plate , named thermal passive hardner and an N-type magnetic membrane
its different then most setups but personaly i dont see the point in a rep since i fight in high sec and the MWD wont allow a repper to work in combat. the setup easily allows to fit 200mm guns so good damage increase? with the 2 hardners i get around 50% resist in kin/thermal can be considerably more with faction mods and the compensation skills
i know the explosive resistance hole is big but ill just have to be carefull picking my targets

I prefer to use t2 280 artys on claw and use it to chase down and kill other intys. I use ac stiletto for gp tackler.

OR
3x 150mm ACs, 1x small nos 1x MWD, 1x 7.5km scram 1x SAR, 1x 200mm plate, 1x kinetic armor hardner, 1x Gyro
I run either of those.
