Edited by: Ehker Gerete on 08/11/2006 23:31:47 I just moved about 4-5 miles (I'm still in my city). Whenever I try to load eve (which I installed after I moved), It shows the intro screen then, before i can log in, the screen goes black and my monitor gives a "no signal" message.
Specs: AMD anthlon 3200 2.2GHz 64bit ATI Radeon 9200 pro 512 MB ram
If you need any other specs you can ask for them
Thanks in advance
edit: the ATI website said that Eve online causes a VPU error on startup without specific drivers, but this hasn't happened before. Then again, I did reformat my HD since the last time i launched eve when this didn't happen. I'll go see if the other drivers work.

I have about the same trouble with my new comp that I installed the eve-client at. AAbout the same spec's except for the gfx card which is a 6800 GForce.
Splashscreen is beeing presented, but after that, just a crash. no login in screen, no error messages, nada. Just a plain crash.
Looking forward to hear anything new about this //Humble |

I'm having the exact same problem as described by the OP. Eve is visible for me to log on and I see the game loading up but as soon as it gets to the character selection screen my monitor flicks off and you are staring at a black screen. If you do not have two monitors you have to basically exit the game cause you can't do anything. With my two monitors I can move the mouse to the second one, click on it and the game will briefly appear on the original monitor before it minimizes. But as soon as I try to maximize Eve again it just blanks the screen out again. It's all very strange. I don't have this problem on the machine that is running an NVidia card, only on an ATI card. I am running the latest Catalyst drivers dated 8/22/06.

Well, ran Eve with the LogServer and got the following. Unhandled exceptions and Errors sounds like a bad thing Atleast they are bad thing in my own profession.
50;"root:/lib/stdlib.ccp", crc:df21f74d 51;;Unhandled Python exception: 52;;Traceback (most recent call last): 53;; File "C:/depot/dragon/common/lib\inifile.py", line 469, in ? 54;; File "C:/depot/dragon/common/lib\inifile.py", line 391, in Init 55;;LookupError: no codec search functions registered: can't find encoding 56;;<end of exception> 57;;0 : blue.BluePyOS: Unhandled Python exception:
To bad there is no way to figure out what that jidder about codecs are? //Humble |

Sadly it seems that the dev's and GM's already has started up for the Fanfest, as there isnt much response from them, either in here or at the petitions. //Humble |

Edited by: Humble on 17/11/2006 08:47:40 Reinstalled newest NVidia drivers, same problem.
Reinstalled EVE-client, same problem.
Reinstalled Eve-client AND NVidia driver, same problem.
Weee, I'm going nut's. Please, why can't CCP point me in the right direction, cause I am starting to belive that this isnt related to the graphic card.
