how do doomsday weapons work........... are they like bombs and that you have to be aligned to the target you wanna hit................or are they like a turret weapon? im asking cause im curious if a frigate was able to stay behind a titan say the ammar titan and the frigate was the intended target would the frigate get hit by said doomsday weapon if the frigate was behind them? |

Eve guns can fire through other ships - including themselves - to hit their intended targets - Doomsday devices are no different in that regard.
As mentioned above, Doomsday devices can only be used against Capital and Supercapital class ships.
There is still no better feeling in Eve than using a Doomsday to destroy a Carrier.

In the past, Doomsday was an area of effect (AOE) weapon and could potentially destroy everything on a grid. That sucked.

so even though the animation for say the ammar titan shows it weapon is pooled up in the front and fired forward like a laser. it could still hit a carrier that was to the side of it? does the doomsday weapons annimation change directions?and far at a 90 degree angle?

-What is "behind" in EVE? You got turrets on top and below and on the sides and everything.(While the Hyperion is freak of nature)
The Doomsday device is a singular target weapon without tracking speed, optimal, falloff etc. |

Doomsday weapons are a bit hard to explain. My suggestion is to warp to a station and try using it on someone.

pretty sure this is a "feature" in the game...
anyways idk seems ******** that the ammar doomsday weapon spools up in the front of the ship then gets shot at a 45 degree angle behind the ship and also for the guy that asked what is behind in eve..... use common sense there is a front part to a ship and there is a "back" part to a ship obviously being behind a ship means im on its back side.

Doomsday acts just like other remote effects that don't have modules. It picks the point on the ship closest to target and *bloop*.
Doomsdays used to be AOE, then they were targeted, then they were limited to capitals. |

EVE ships don't have server facings. The 'facing' is client generated based on the ships velocity. |
