I started getting this today. Bulk data takes ages, it gets to about 480/570 and then Eve crashes with "connection to server lost".

Edited by: Condecinte on 30/01/2008 16:04:55 There is a file in the bulkdata folder called 53ce.cache sized at 571kb, this is the one that it seems to be crashing on. Every time I log on I just get acquiring bulk data (5/36) and the counter crashes at close to (500/571kb). Any ideas how I can fix this?
Edit: this started when I tried to log in right after DT today, it was fine last night.

I made a backup of my cache and then deleted it, I also backed up and deleted the bulkdata folder in the installation folder. I started up the client and watched it for 30 mins as it crawled slowly through all the files. It finally got to (36/36) (11/11kb) and then it crashed out and restarted with the messgae "connection to server lost". Can somebody please please please help me because I don't know what else to do.

I am having exactly the same problem. I have applied the new patch and now when I try to connect I get to 36/36 of the bulk data packets and the connection to the server is lost.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can diagnose/fix this problem?

CCP, this happens way too much. Let us download the bulk data folder off a mirror and manually put it where it belongs. I am having same problem after the last patch, Bulk Data gets to 35/36 and then crashes and says "connection lost." I tried lowering MTU, rebooting, cache clear, etc, etc.
Please CCP give us a fix.

Hello, I got the same error "Acquiring bulk data" 5/36, I cannot pass over this. After 15 minutes I got "connection to server lost". I tried to reconnect for more that 10 times with the same result, I've even reinstalled the client 2 times, but nothing. Don't know else what to do. I want to mention that I'm new to EVE and after 14 days of trial I've decided to go further and purchase a time card. I have lost one day trying to connect, I will try tomorrow again, maybe in 30 days('till the card will expire) I will achieve a successfully connection.
Have a great day everyone.

Edited by: Drazi1 on 01/03/2008 19:16:04 try a program called pingplotter . www.pingplotter.com.
Download the standard version u get 30 days use out of it, but its enough to check if its a problem with ur connection or ur isp
I have been having issues, but i found out its my ISP that's been giving me grief. Been like this since tuesday
