I have a few questions here, I've been trying to find information on them, but most of it is either old or outdated.
Most of my pvp is done with frigate roams through null and I'm looking for something different to fly.
I have access to all 4 ships and I'm just looking for a reason to fly any of them other than the kitsune. There usually is at least one other kitsune pilot in the fleet, so I'm just wondering if it would be worth it to fly a keres, sentinel or hyena when I can relatively well fly the kitsune.
My pvp fleets are generally without logi, so it's pretty much bring whatever you want. Just looking for some feedback. |

Keres is very strong in the current kiting dominated meta. Check this out, the Keres plays a very large part in the gang's success.

See that's not really our style, we're more of a short range assault frigate charge in and try to blap stuff. Not really much of kiters. I think I may look into the sentinel a bit more because it seems the closest thing to filling this role. |

Sentinel is great. You can stay out of range while neuting out targets and making them vulnerable to the close up brawlers in your gang. |

burning into a nano gang is almost never a good idea so when the enemy kites you then damp them back into brawl range

Does anyone have any recommended fits for the sentinel/Keres. I think I'll give this two a try. |

Electronic attack frigates are finesse frigates.
They have crap damage and crap tank. They are designed to be quick and at the edge of a fight applying 1 or 2 super powers from range.
The sentinel is the closest to having brawlability, but it will never be a shining star in the brawling arena.
You can want to brawl and you can want to fly EAF, but you can't want to do both at the same time and be happy with the results.

If you're after a damps platform, I would seriously recommend a Maulus over a Keres. Maulus is much, much cheaper and is every bit as effective a damps platform.
The Keres is an awesome tackle frigate and its bonuses to scram range make life utterly miserable for kiters. I tend to leave damps off a Keres and fit purely for tackle unless the FC specifically calls for damps. In a shield gang with some logi, a Keres outshines a Maulus as a damps boat, but not by a whole lot really.
That said, I can usually be found at the helm of a Kitsune.

Try out the Sentinel! Specifically, check out a streamer called Fintarue on Twitch. He's a master of the ship and does some amazing things with them.
He does fly it primarily as a solo ship but his fit could easily work in a small gang fleet comp as well. |

Sentinel is alright with your gang's comp, since you guys have to commit to DPS, having something that can shut down turret ships will help quite a lot. The second bonus will probably act primarily as an anti-kiting weapon. Furthermore, it's the only EAF whose DPS can be considered as significant (i'm talking about a small gang of frigates).
I would not favor the Keres in your case since the point's range bonus can be a bit redundant if you guys field interceptors for pure tackle, and the damp bonus might be a bit situational.
Lastly, I think your should also try the hyena. The TP bonus is mostly irrelevant in your case, however, even if you guys are not kiters per se, having a pocket huginn in your gang can help in a wide array of situations. Such as webbing a target to prevent it from crashing a gate, counters kiters, pin down a ship who has one of you guys tackled to help your friend escape, and so on.
Note that if you like the hyena, but want to add some dps to your gang, you can try to fly a cruor. You'll trade a lesser web range for more tank, amount-bonused neuts and a bit of dps. |
