I have for many years been playing EVE Online. It is the only game that has managed to retain me as a player! All glory to you to help us find a wonderful gaming experience! I have in all the years I have played never shot or given me on any player other problems! I try to help out for my friends to find the beauty in this game!
But one thing that bothers me very much! All those who will do anything to shoot us down! Today I had enough! I hold on by mining in a hulk with T2 equipment, the price tag on it is on the stiff 300 million ISK which is about 10 hours in hardy mining without interruption. Anyone who chooses to shoot me down sacrifice his ship about 2 million ISK before the police come and shoot up his ship. When raiding his friends nave on all the equipment for close to 10 million ISK, so he can buy at least 5 ships and pursue and destroy without any other action against him!
So my suggestion is as follows When one is attacked in high sec and lose his ship, there must be some sort of compensation to be paid by the person who shoots down the ship! preferably 80% The same principle for low sec but with a reduserad%, in large spawning the order of 40% The same principle for 0.0, 10% The attacking and shooting at us now would think over before random attacks us!
Is this too difficult to program, you need to give us much better protection
upgrade shield and armor by 600%, they might not have time to shoot us down before help comes! |

the troll is too obvious with this one.
But I will take a small bite.
How do you get paid if the player has no money? My combat char always had a small wallet. Most sent to empire alt to work isk making angles there. Id just make a gank char a whopping 0 isk wallet.
CCp doesn't do negative isk balance except for one case i know so don't say that. A banned isk scammer asks really really nicely to play again. ccp has said yes in the past....and then makes the wallet negative. They work off their debt as penance. |

Such a bad idea.
If you make the misstake to fly such a fragil ship which can be destroyed with only one single catalyst, you deserve to die.
Use the skiff for mining or a procurer. Fit tank modules on your ship not only yield modules.
Go and check your wrong decisions, before you cry for help.

No I disagree entirely
I'm going to make an assumption (and I apologise if I'm wrong..) but if you're AFK mining, you deserve to be shot in the face
You need to keep local open, and treat highsec like nullsec Set common corps and alliances who are the usual gankers (such as CODE.) to red, so as soon as you see them enter the system in local, you warp out and dock up, or get behind a POS shield
You have ample time to get away before **** hits the fan, therefore you have no excuse. Being AFK also means that you miss certain 'hints' that someone may be planning an attack.. such as an NPC corp character, in a frigate or something to come close to your ship (around 5000-2000m away) and then warp out... chances are that character just make bookmarks, so his alts can come in and kill you
Also having local open, the common miners in the system you occupy should be set to grey, so you know they are generally trustworthy.. and any friends should set to blue so you know you can trust them also.. anyone who DOES NOT have a standing to you, should be looked at for their security status.. if it is in the negative, be aware of whats going on..
TL;DR -- use your brain more and take advantage of the tools given to you |

Thank you for your assumption that I did AFK mining! I did not! I had at that time three Hulk.
I kept an eye on the local, but those who attacked me are in the same system, They jumped up and locked me down and pushed me to pieces! I lost 1: 3 before help arrived and shot down their ship!
Although I only had one ship, I would not have had time to get away! For it takes too long to go into the warp and put you in safety! |

I'm going to make the assumption then these people who attacked you are red to you and on your watch list? If not, do it.. if yes, great
you now have 2 choices:
1: only mine when they are offline 2: move out of your system and go elsewhere
As a fellow miner, i recommend moving out of your system and putting up base somewhere else Use http://evemaps.dotlan.net/ to do your research on systems you seem interested in and make some sort of a shortlist
You can use statistics on that site to view how many jumps made into a particular system over a 24 hour period. This is valuable data as it shows you the likelihood of meeting someone who wishes to do you harm... the less jumps per 24 hours, the less chance someone will jump in to kill you |

If we just have to move around to protect us. We must constantly move! As is promoting the game only those who are pirates.
We would make more ISK to just be pirates. a guy who shot us on the way to Jita. focused only on those who flew pod. proud brillierade when he shot the pod's and took inplant worth 4B. We can put the prize money on him. But what good is that!
So let us instead to shoot down anything that moves! |

I havernt moved from the system I mine in for maybe a year.... 99% of the time everyone in local is blue to me and we're all allied and friendly to each other Login (if you can atm) with the character you're posting in the forums with and we can chat further, if that interests you at all |

Answer me this. If you are flying an expensive ship and do not have adequate protection, why shouldn't someone be able to profit from ganking you?

If you RMT'd isk or other assets, their seizure also can put your wallet to negatives, which means that you cannot make any sell orders or contracts, so you must PVE it off or have friends get you to positive isk again.

Haven't seen this thread in awhile.
A shame it isn't very original, genuine, funny, or even warmed over with actual rage.
If troll; 0/10
If real; get better. The only retribution this game offers you comes in the form of tools you can use to your advantage. Outside of those tools, the game will not protect you and the game will not care.
Also.... just because something is more expensive, it does not mean that it will always be better in all situations. And it certainly does not mean that someone using cheaper ships/equipment can't touch you. In fact... it only takes... - a 500k isk frigate to "pin down" a 2.2 billion isk Dreadnought. - a single 200kk isk cruiser to "pin down" an 80kkk isk Titan. - twenty 30kk isk Stealth Bombers to melt a 1.5kkk isk carrier. - ten 5kk isk destoryers to wipe out a 200kk isk Heavy Assault Cruiser... or even a 250kk isk battleship.
And all of the above are pure combat ships.

this? yeah you're doing it wrong. See if you're not in a fleet there are MUCH better ships to use. like a retriever or a procurer.
HavokTBP wrote: the price tag on it is on the stiff 300 million ISK which is about 10 hours in hardy mining without interruption.
sure is, but have you seen the tank you can put on one of these? hell if you had friends you could actually make a fleet of these and kill the OTHER guys

that's right cupcake. That's why you build your ships to be very unprofitable to gank.
See highsec miners seem to think all they need to fit for is yield, this is not the case. Fit for some tank and then people will think twice about trying to gank you, thus lowering your overall costs increasing your bottom line! |
