Has ANYONE heard from a dev or gm on this issue? I can't stay connected to the server long enough to get anything done, it's a server disconnect every 5 minutes, sometimes I can't even completely log in before I'm dropped again, and it's been like this for three days now...
Anyone?

Have no idea - I feel your pain -- and I am in the middle of a war.
It was everything i could do to just log back into Eve today long enough to warp to a SS and on my way hit Ctrl-Q. At least my ship is safe, but who knows when I can play again. Don't really feel like warping into a hostile system or a fleet battle and seeing a "Connection to Server" message pop up.
Oddly, I only seem to be getting disconnected in a very busy, fleet-laden system. My alt toon located in a distant system in Eve is fine (apparently). Although that toon is docked as well, while my other one is in space. I have NO IDEA if this is related. SO, guess my battle toon is out of commission for a while, floating in the middle of nowhere.
I just tried again to log in, and I got in fine -- for 3 minutes, then disconnected. That's disconnect #16 for today. sigh. GL bro.

Yup, I'm sitting here reading the forum and generally ****ing about cos I can't be bothered logging on knowing I will lose connection as son as I take my ship and and try and do anything. Up until last week it only usually happened evey 1/2hr or so during the wee hours but now its evey 10 mins.
I have just had a new phone jack installed and my line checked etc. It seems that I get a disconnect whenever I get a load on, as in warping anywhere. A comment on this from CCP would be great. |

Edited by: Horoc''h Ryydell on 16/11/2006 09:47:49 Yes, Devs have let (me at last) know they are looking into it. Its a ISP problem though, went away for me two days ago. No problems since...
But how do you think they can try and fix it without getting data to prove where it is going wrong... because its not CCPs servers that disconnect, its one of the servers on the route that drops out
If you keep having problems, get pingplotter and trace 87.237.38.200 to see where the problems are. Petition under technical support if you keep having problems... sending .pp2-files to show whats wrong

I agree that it must be a router thingy - Yesterday I signed on two accounts, with toons about 15-16 systems away. The one toon kept crashing/disconnected, the other ran as smooth as silk. I then experimented by logging on the crashing toon and flying as fast as I could in the direction of the other toon, took me a while since I was disconnected about 3 times on the way, but finally, once I reached a certain system about 3 jumps from the other toon, the disconnects stopped for the rest of the night - about 6 hours. Today, everything has been fine all morning, but my farthest north character just crashed again after freezing in space. Other character, still, the farthest south still running fine. Odd, huh?

I'm not getting any disconnect problems at all. I am convinced that it's dependent on the route to the server.

I normally manage to get on for a couple of hours, then it crashes on me... and it take a few hours to get back on.
How long is this going to happen? My little bro has just started playing again and i'm trying to go kill him.... so pls fix it soon!
Thanks G

I'm convinced that it has to do with the route to the server.
In fact every time I run pingplotter, I notice that that when I hit as-0-0.bbr1.London1.Level3.net, my ping times goes from 30ish to 150ish. That's every time I run this app. |
