Would be pretty sweet to have to undock from your ship and go to your agent in station to recieve missions in person.

Well you mofos can train all the skills you want. Once I set foot on a station the first thing I'm getting is one of these (except with alot more spikes, blood, rust, guns, and ducttape) and introducing the Carmageddon mod for EvE

Read some of the chronicles. Pod pilots aren't permanently stuck in pods. They get in them to fly the ships, otherwise they're out of them. The game just hasn't supported rendering the second piece.

I have to say please for the love of god - no more skills for the sake of skills.
On the topic of combat - wouldnt it be left to marines, combat droids, and other cannon fodder? Be nice to deploy hundreds of marines ordering to take control of the station
Assasinations on the other hand would be much more hands on.

As a couple people have mentioned, if we do get to have skills for avatars in stations (cool!), then definately make it seperate from our current training.

looking in my agent desk to find implants and other good loots :)... or seduce my agent for the rewards :)
on track. if the option came to go and talk with the agent to get missions. i would do that. would love it. as i like abit of roleplaying.
would be cool if player offices would be advalible. and thinks like ships hangers. where you walk to your ship. and take it. going to repair shop to repair. going to manufactor office, to set a job. visiting the market. maybe a Stock market, when that is complete.

Edited by: Macmuelli on 17/11/2006 23:14:50 Hi!
Walkin inside Stations opens a lot of possibiltys....
i see my self making Missions inside( if this is ever planned...
A station coud be Splitted in Floors with an security status...
Deep down in the 1. up to the 5. Floor is the open pvp arena higher then the 5.- 10 floor is a protected area where u can do public stuff... (meeting normal agents in there Offices...or friends and whatever u want to do...
Faction Warfare coud be open the way for " higher Floors" like MiltSry Areas... The Doors will be open if u get high standings to the factions and corp... Doing MiltSry things to protect the station...
Missions Inside the station coud be an possibly way .... and bring u deep into the 1. floor <- a new experience for Gangmissions outside a spaceship...
Personal i think If CCP realy can rule it..... making new combat situation inside stations.... give Mission carebears a new Toy... another Step to the " Worldomination " is done....

Awesome. Although I do hope players will have reasons to egress from their pods other than aesthetic value. At the end of the day, if a mission runner has the choice of walking to his agent or right clicking them in their ship, the right click will in the end be more efficient.
It would be a real shame if all that potential didn't have a point, though. I've seen it in other MMO's before. A great new feature is released, but has no real point or value to it, and after the fun of it drifts off, it remains unused.

Seeing as how a lot of the EVE community is from the UK we'd all better brush up on our British Self Defense before combat makes its way into the stations

I'm pretty sure most pod-pilots just "let it go" when they're in their pod. (or when they see a flashy red Machariel)

Obviously, we don't want to introduce a feature the community doesn't use and have a variety of features in mind that we hope will keep player interest up, including some suggestions like captain's quarters, gambling (winnings won't have value outside of station), and some activities from the EVE Chronicles. Suggestions are always welcome, after all this is for the players.

Hmm, as long as we can go to Amarr prime, enjoy a bite of Tachyon-Fried Minmatar with a glass of spiced wine and some long limb roes, it will be all good.
Something like this.

I suppose what I meant was that I hope stations have some real value or advantage to gain from walking around in them and using whatever facilities are available. I'm excited already from an RPing point of view, as there are a whole list of simple things that could enhance that aspect of EVE. But i'm thinking things like being able to "discover" storlyline missions from some rejected old navy sarge sitting at a bar with empty bottles around him, and a desire for some revenge against his "superiors" for his current predicament.
With things lke that, station interiors would not only have the amusement factor, but if one rooted around in them, they could find things like the above idea that would benefit their EVE lives via ISK or other rewards that can be used when in ship.
