Dreadnaught, titan have drone. but not sentry drone. (old time dreadnaught have it and remove) these have special drone. and only for dreadnaught, only for titan.
i call Siege Battery Drone, Heavy Siege Battery drone. SBD for dreadnaught. HSBD for titan.
SBD and HSBD similar BIG sentry drone. but somepoint differ:
- these EX-size, same fighter/fighter bomber
- these have deploy time. it's not reduce from skill, module and others. use hotdrop these not can helpful.
- these operate on sige mod. (H)SBD differ from fighter, figher bomber. SBD is not movement, just hit and shoot. that is invisble crewman control :)
- big signature resolution. low tracking, long range simple. if these shoot subcap it's hard. it's for VS long range cap- and supercap.

Given all the restrictions you suggest for them, I have to ask, "why bother?" I do not see anything that adds anything to the game except making newer Titan pilots have to train a bunch of drone skills. They do not seem to add anything that the turrets do not already do better.

No. This lets their drones have a reasonable chance to threaten a HIC. This is bad, as unsupported caps are supposed to die.

After spending several minutes understanding the grammar of your post, I suggest you look up why drones were removed from those capital ships in the first place. |

Moving capitals and supercapitals more towards independent operating entities is a step in a bad direction.
For the most part your average pilot can maintain a carrier or a dread, usually both, but once you give dreads drones or titans drones they start to be able to rely less on smaller supporting ships to keep them out of trouble and more on their own hull and excessive ability to react to any situation. Even with these restrictions it begs the question "Should we do this? Do we take the step back?" Right now dreads are in a good spot, except maybe the revelation but still. Titans need surgery to fix their roles, but drones isnt what they need, its the last thing they need in fact.
Those drones were removed for a reason, its best we leave that elephant graveyard to rest.

It's like half the posters didn't read or understand the OP... and I can't totally blame them.
That being said, I don't totally understand the need for these capital sized sentries on dreads and supercap sentries on Titans, and feel that the extra training is unnecessary. Only thing I can see is that he wants to amp the power of Dreads and Titans in long duration battles, but he wants to do it without buffing them straight up and making hotdrops more powerful (that's what he talked about in the OP).
So... I dunno, I don't think they need the extra power, personally. Meh, I don't have enough experience running them though, so what do I know? |

This was my understanding as well. Still not supported.

Actually, s. H it. Lord from no name alliance and corp, dreads are in a really ****** place after the next patch due to a dearth of things for them to shoot and provoke conflict. Supers and titans will be in a similar situation with magic-wand sov. |

Because in the game of alts who you choose to post with on the forums is so critical perhaps i just prefer not to subscribe to blob warfare and detest flying with large numbers of pilots like NCDock? Perhaps i prefer Smaller gang operations with friends across multiple corps and alliances? But lets not digress here, none of this thread is about me, its about the topic.
If you cant envision a place for capitals, supers, and titans in Sov 5.0 your not thinking about the bigger picture, your only concerned with the 5,000 man cap blobs. There will still be a need for Structure bashes just not the huge ones for stations like we saw in HED-GP. Plenty of new destructible deployables too. Sov will now be more dynamic and complex, rather than a match of i dropped more supers and dreads first, now the server wont handle anymore, get rekt
Or have you ever considered shooting other ships with your dreads? Seems like a new bold frontier, Uncharted waters one might say. I know shooting ships with dreads sounds preposterous, but this is a world of adapt or die. That adaptation, is not the return of drones for dreads / titans. They'll make it through just fine, you watch.

So just like the Dread/Titan guns then. i don't know what your trying to do other than give dreads more long range DPS. Just seems a pointless wast of server % having to calk even more ****** drones. |
