Edited by: Kraknall on 21/11/2006 08:21:38 For the love of Gawd....
What makes these people in BSUN think *they* can dictate terms to TSA? Because they blow up the odd Rifter that throws itself at them? Man, I've only been playing EVE-Online for a month...I've been a member of TSA for a week...and I dive my throwaway Rifters at them just out of sheer BOREDOM!!! Truth be told, the only effect their so-called "war" has had on us is to tick us off with the promise of PvP that almost never happens. Terms....
So far you've been about as intimidating as a bad case of gas.

Hello,
New-ish EVE player here, about 5 weeks in. As I stated in a previous post, I've been killed a few times by BSUN. In a Rifter. With "T1" very low-cost modules on them. Prolly about 300,000 isk each, all told. Here's the funny thing; each and every time, it was me attacking them.
*I'd* lock.
*I'd* engage.
*I'd* fire first.
I even warped through 4 of you camping the gate to Gulfonodi in Teonosude. In a shuttle.
I'm not saying I don't understand your strategy; I do. Guerilla tactics are always best employed when facing a vastly superior force in numbers. The problem is, you're not having any effect. My corpmates still mine and run missions, I still run cargo back and forth, and we all have fun with the occasional game of "I'm bored with mining, let's see if we can catch a BSUN".
So I pull a Rifter outta the pile and go looking.
So far, the only people I've seen fighting to any degree are Unreal, Ranged Airman, and *very* rarely, UberBrooskie.
Jahnweh, Creideiki, Cxar...always docked, always in some station or another. Calculon himself? Hasn't been in a fight, or even logged on, since the first night of the war.
Anyway...I suppose my point, if I even had one when I started writing all this, is that the war has become trivial and boring. I've stopped focusing on scouting BSUN and have gone back to freighting for fun and profit as my main activities in EVE. My corpmates, even the new ones like me, have proven alert enough and smart enough that they can simply sidestep this war. About all they have for a reaction is a quick back-and-forth of "So how's the war going?" "Meh...so-and-so was logged on a bit tonight".
It's less of a disruption and more of a mildly distracting itch.

Don't worry about us Celtic....I was speaking to a few of us newer players last night while trolling for BSUNs; they've all had so much fun with the limited PvP we've seen that they said their initial doubts about sticking with EVE long term are gone now. They LOVE it!

I actually have something nice to say.
Senlathial was game tonight! Twice I suicided my ship at her/him (no Sen, I didn't *really* think I was gonna beat your Thorax with a Vigil or a Rifter LOL) and I actually had to run away with my Stabber. Durned good fighting for once, and FUN! *REAL* FUN! Now talk to your corpmates and get them to engage with so much gusto, will ya?

I have to respond. Personally, I think this war has the potential to drag on and on and on for one very simple reason; I honestly, truly don't think either side realizes how inconsequential they are to the other.
BSUN believes they are having a measurable (measured) impact on TSA, but from all the alliance chat and TS/Ventrilo gab, no one in TSA seems to be concerned in the least. The losses quoted above are either inflated or otherwise so inconsequential to TSA as a whole that nobody really cares. Everyone's just basically going about their business.
TSA, on the other hand, isn't having much of an impact on BSUN's operations either...mainly because they will either run, hide, or simply not engage. There's nothing wrong with that, to be truthful.
So that's the situation; one alliance (TSA) taking losses that have no real effect on it, and another one that isn't affected because it's taking no losses.
Stalemate, anyone? :)

Edited by: Kraknall on 30/11/2006 15:06:12 ..and so the war died out with a whimper. All those incredible "terms" spelled out in BSUN's missive to Adame? POOF! We're paying them squat...and far as I know, Otosela is still very much dominated by TSA. I guess maybe they weren't quite so determined to defend Calc after all.
(...or, like us, they just got bored of a pretty pointless and uneventful war).
Oh well.

Awww, Jahnweh...I'm not really craving anyone's respect or validation here. Seriously, I'm a pretty leavel-headed person. I've been playing EVE for a total of 8 weeks now, give or take. I don't have the character skills or the ISK to be any kind of significant participant in this war right now, and anyone who knows anything about EVE knows it. I *do* know however that the facts remain; the war, such as it were, is dull and uneventful. If it continues at its current pace, I think many of the folks in TSA will probably be retiring from their real-life professions long before they move out of Otosela...or pay you "squatter's rights".
Oh, and a small point of interest; cloaking has been nerfed.
More importantly, Warp Core Stabilizers have been nerfed. When you engage TSA now, you'd best win your fights...because endless running away will, unlike previously fought battles, no longer be an option.
Happy trails.

It's all tit-for-tat Bear; finding you when you run to your safe spots will also be easier. I'm hyped, personally. Despite a pile of inexperience and very poor combat skills, I have enjoyed the few fights I have been in.
