So I have been watching youtube videos on piloting which seems to consist of rapidly clicking on the client in hopes it realizes you want to change the ships direction. (because 90% of the time it doesn't) I thought it was just me that did that but it looks like even the better players do it.
Anyway on some of the videos the client seems to make a green effect on the mouse which I assume is the client saying "hey yes i did get the message and I'm gonna move the ship" How do I enable that?
Thanks. |

That's kinda what I thought. I assume it's "legal"?
EDIT I would imagine it is if they are posting videos of it. |

That green effect is probably added by the screen capture software to show a mouse click, I've never seen it in the client.
Pitch and roll WASD flight control is possible, you may have to set the keys through the escape/shortcuts/navigation menu though.

Haha... a lot of us know that just a few double clicks would suffice. However there is something just... more satisfying... about endlessly spamming the mouse button... it makes you feel more "in control" of what is happening.
*click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click* *click*
It also annoys people when you "hot-mic."
As for the green thing. Never seen it. And I do manually pilot a lot.

It's legal as it has no effect on the client or game play.

Mary Wana wrote: rapidly clicking on the client in hopes it realizes you want to change the ships direction. (because 90% of the time it doesn't) Because the server works on one-second ticks, it can take up to a full second before your ship responds to the command to turn. Seconds feel like ages in a stressful situation and it's really easy to let that trip you up. If you keep asking your ship to change to different directions you will lose a ton of speed as it slows down and tries to turn this way and that. You will notice in Chessurs videos that he uses a very shallow arc when turning. IE any click is within a few degrees of his last click even when click spamming. That way you don't spill too much speed turning, and even if you can't see your ship responding instantly it still looks like it because you are gradually turning little by little.

Not what OP wanted but:
Windows Desktop > Right Click > Personalize > Change Mouse Pointers > Pointer Options
Check "Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key".
Handy when making teaching videos, but intended for those that find it visually hard to keep track of the pointer. |

I think the first click is needed to change focus from whatever window you were on before (d scan, corp chat, etc...) only after that do you double click. I'm not entirely sure though, I usually quadruple or quintuple click, just to be sure. |

eve is like the old arcade games. you have to bash buttons to make it go faster.
the green circle is just the youtuber wanting to show you when he is clicking. since its not exactly obvious just from watching a video. Screen capture software can do this mouse pointer highlighting for you.
it has nothing to do with the client and doesn't help you playing the game - you see it only in the captured video not in the client ;)
how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

I have never had any trouble with double clicking (except perhaps when there is lag, then nothing seems to respond right), perhaps you can change your dbl-click speed in windows. |
