Well I have once before in my 2.5 year tenure asked for help from a support ticket, and best as I recall it was handled well and relatively quickly. But apparently, things have changed.
I got the idea that I would train this character and a number of others (three accounts), and really did into Industry. So I spent a ton of ISK, and I have been variously researching blueprints, doing invention, copying and manufacturing. Things were going well and then BOOM-this character is not detecting the hundreds of datacores of each needed type that were in the station where I was doing the invention.
So after trying a number of things, such as trading the items away and then back again, trying another station, and buying new items, I am dead in the water, totally unable to do anything other than copying, and the way it is going, I will not be able to do that soon.
So I put in my second ticket ever, and after a couple days I got advised to reset and delete things (cache), which I did more than once, and so advised. Since then I have added a number of messages with more information each time, and all of a sudden it has dawned on me I am not getting any response past that canned one.
So is support truly dead in this game?
I do not complain much. But 3 active multi skill training accounts, 2.5 years, and more, and cannot get any real help at all with a game issue that greatly devalues the game, just worries me.
Maybe posting it on the forums will get a response. Support tickets sure do not work. |

And geez, how did this get posted in this forum? My bad, so hopefully it will be moved to the industry forum where I had intended to post it. |

The most common problem is not selecting the correct input source. |

Thank you for responding. That sounds like something I need to look into, because I was not even aware I needed to select an input source. Previously, it did it automatically, and the materials have always been there in that character's things at that station. When I get home I will look into that.
Anything else you can tell me about that? Like could it be looking for the input materials at some other station than where the job is attempted to be initiated?
Sorry if I sound like a noob on it, but frankly, I am a noob on it.
Thanks for the help! |

A lot has changed:

Keep in mind that some of the above either never made it to release, or was changed afterwards, but for the most part those changes are small.
You might want to start with the UI dev blog, notably "Installation and Destination". |

Every time I've seen this it's because the input drop down has defaulted to a location other than where the materials actually are. Check the drop downs.
It's same station (or POS), there's no option for another station, but it could be looking in personal hangers instead of corp, or in a container, etc. |

Thanks to the posters in this thread, my problem has been solved.
I was doing fine with everything, but things as a result were getting rather crowded and unorganized. So I added named containers. Thus started my problem unknownst to myself.
Thank you both for the great responsive posts, that educated me further in the game depth of EO. The input was looking in one of the containers. A simple redirection of it solved it all.

The next thing you will discover: what happens when the container is too small to deliver, and how to solve that.
Personally I don't bother with containers, except for inactive BPO.
Also beware that container permissions do not work the way most people hope they do. Many BPO have be stolen as a result of this mistake. |
