I had a passing thought on a Tech 2 Battleship function.
Anti cyno field inhibtor, making it impossible for captials to just jump away and it keeps smaller ships necessarty to tackle the cap from warping away. "Imagination is the key that unlocks the door." - ME |

I like the idea of a ship that somehow counters cyno tactics, but holding capital ships is a little too ganky for my taste.
How about a ship that can close cyno fields, perhaps from several AU away? Give it a cynosural field disruptor that can kill any cyno field immediately. It could be used to hide friendly cynos or to pre-empt enemy cynos, especially handy when your opponent opens a cyno and starts piping doomday damage through it. -------------- Civis Ascendant Sum |

True, it would be an interesting counter for a titans doomsday weapon. Honestly tho, witht he hp capitals have in kali and the Firepower they bring, its something necessary that they need.

I like the idea of a device that launches interstellar missiles through subspace to random cynos.
I like the idea very much.
I don't know why it would need to be a ship-based device though, other than to head off the development of HABS.

can you not blow up cynosaural fields before the capital has entered thew system, warping it back to its original position?

You know, I'm not sure. Maybe you can. How long does it take for a cap ship to jump? From the times I've been floating next to a cyno, it looks like they showed up mere seconds after the cyno opened.
And if there was a way to destroy cyno's I bet people would destroy the dozens that people leave around their outposts. Lousy glitch.
I guess the big problem I have with the OP is that it's an EW role that only works on cap ships, two of which are immune to EW.
But considering the huge role that dreadnaughts will play in post-Revelations EvE, and the difficulty associated with killing them, that might be a good enough use for a billion isk. -------------- Civis Ascendant Sum |
