I think simply giving them the DST Overheat bonus to tanking and propulsion modules (and maybe a little better PG and CPU) these things would shine as heavy tacklers without making them obsolete everything else. |

They are cancer: they are better than AF in everyway; they even have smaller sigs and align faster for some reason. Honestly there are probably too many t2 frigs. Interceptors have two, assault frigates have two, you can probably merge them all together into a group of three ships. A interceptor, assault frigate, heavy tackle ceptor. Balance them on the needs of that class, being bubble immunity, dps, tackle, speed, tank, etc. I don't have the answers specifically, but you could reduce the excessive t2 frigate amount by 1, rebalance the lot and get your end result (maybe even improve them). All races kind of have one t2 frigate that is kinda.. Meh. But the new destroyers could be tweaked as needed. Frankly this is the best suggestion in this thread make Assault Frigs heavier tackle. Doesn't need damage, give them a bit more tank, bit faster warp, bit more scan res. If they wanted to add a destroyer I would have prefered a logistics destroyer for frig fleets and fw.
You can get some serious tank out of some of them.
Try peeling a wolf off something when it's going very fast indeed, small sig and tanking 300dps (albeit only for a bit) but that's pretty damned nasty tackle - I don't think it should be much better. |

Some AFs do need a buff, namely amarr, minmatar, and hawk, the other 3 are good.

I agree that a universal AF buff to deal wit powercreep from tacticals is not good, but I would include the Jag in the list of individual AFs that need a tweak ... it's rubbish

6 months ago the Enyo, Ishkur, Harpy, Hawk, Retibution, Vengeance Jaguar and Wolf each had there own unique role, some admittedly performed their jobs better, but as a class of ship they were in a good place. Sure a couple of small tweaks here and there were needed, but overall CCP had done a good job with them.
Rise and Fozzie have made a completes dog's ear with the T3d pass and I'd be disappointed if they started to alter other ship classes to fit in with the expectations of the T3ds. You'll end up with two broken ship classes rather than just the one.
Once the Hecate comes out there will be zero reason to fly an AF. CCP might as well just reimburse your SP and delete those 8 ships from the game. If CCP don't nerf the new desssies then they will reduced ship diversity in New Eden, rather than increase the variety.
