Hey I am new and I am looking to find out what programs external from the game are legal and what programs you guys would suggest for me. I am mainly into station trading and manufacturing so things like that would be of great help to me. |

Any programs that allow you to import market data to check profit margins and so on or is in-game the only option on that front? |

For new player? Probably EVEMon first, right off the bat. EFT second, but no worries for a while, not until you get further than T1 components for T1 frigs imo. Later, EFT will be as invaluable as EVEMon. But for now I'd just focus on learning and using EVEMon, building various skill plans etc. There is really a lot of thought and planning to go into a long term plan, or even a lot of short term plans stacked to the stars. Best to start getting acquainted with the thought process early on. |

Some of those listed on EVE Uni's site contain advertisement processes, which are not listed as installation options on an installation menu. I had a helluva time uninstalling one - and don't ask me the name. It was EVE-something. Not EVEMon, or EFT. I wrote the new EVE Uni CEO about it and he asked me "which ones?" I was rather surprised at that response.
I'm not even interested in trial-and-error discovery for the name of the one that had me contemplating evil acts upon program developers who put ADS in INSTALLERS. However, I would, for the appropriate salary, do that for EVE Uni so they can be assured all those third-party programs are user friendly, not just planting stuff on your machine for capitalist swine. I was left with the uneasy feeling EVE Uni wasn't going to take a look at them themselves. So, be advised, there is a warning on that one.

That aside, I have a feeling the OP is more interested in multi-boxing tools than in fitting tools. Should that be the case, do a search for multi-boxing third party applications and take a good read. It's a hot issue. CCP actively bans accounts doing it wrong, and there's a meg or two of posts with CCP input on the forum in the appropriate section.

jEveassets is the best assets manager, really useful to manage your stuff even if you only have a single character, though it's in its prime when you are trying to find a certain ship or item that you cant remember where you left
pretty fun to use the tracker tool in it to see your wealth grow (or fall) over time too. |
