Today, while doing some Level 2 missions in my newly fitted Corax, I stumbled upon several Amarr Slave Ships. which I promptly exterminated as per my Agents wishes.
Upon looting the destroyed ships, however, it soon became apparent that there were still some living members among the burnt and broken wreckage of the ship; that being several Slaves.
Appalled that the Amarr would do such a thing, I wanted to give these poor souls a second chance at life, and took them into my cargo bay with the intent to free them of their bonds and start them on their new journey.
Unfortunately, the only option available was 'Jettison'. Freezing to death in a cargo container does not sound like freedom to me, and I managed to smuggle them into a docking station where the only option there was 'Trash'.
I assume trashing a live organism means they are converted to biomass, and that isn't really freeing them either.
The point I am trying to reach here is that why can I not release any found slaves? As a member of the proud Caldari nation I believe that the hard work of the individual is what maters, not on the backs of slave labor.
My proposal is that when we come across rescued slaves, to be given the option to 'Release' them. A dialogue pops up saying how some have joined your crew and some will leave the next time you dock. You also get a letter from CONCORD praising you for your efforts, and perhaps even rewarding you with a small amount of ISK and maybe even some faction points.

I hereby agree with Ms Aznomi; the oppressiveness of the Amarr knows no bounds, and this is yet another example of their barbarism. I stand shoulder to shoulder with my Caldari sister, and ask that CONCORD please pay this request it's utmost attention.
Lest I be remiss, I would also like to thank Ms Anzomi for her courage to step forward on this very sensitive subject. Without stalwarts like her, we are all doomed to a universe created in the image of the Empress, and I think we can all agree that such a fate should not be laid upon anyone. |

Doesn't this idea make you a slave trader? Nice to be free and all, but tanstafl. Bring them to a station "give" them concord watch them be freed and then made debtors cause they're broke former slaves, and concord pays you beer money. Not even beer money, more like returning cans for a nickle each.
If you just want antislavery content I would go for in mission options with rewards, like blowing transports, getting slaves and putting them into "docked" frigate and let them getting away safely.
You are content to be content. This is not a jedi mind trick, you're just the game

I have converted a large secure container into housing and keep it in a behemoth. I provide all living expenses and even a generous stipend for those that volunteer to help the crew in whatever capacity they can, tell them they are free, but none ever leave. |

What are you talking about? There's already a release mechanic for those slaves. It's called the airlock. |

Ill have you know that maintaining slaves is damn difficult job to do
1) subjugation <-----Fyi this traditionally requires you have a military of an Imperial magnitude
2) oppression <------again, very labour intensive
3) TRAINING <-------not cheap
if you don't want them i will make you a generous offer for them provided you haven't taught any of them to read(cant be having them getting any ideas now can we).

There used to be an agent offer from Minmatar corps which converted Slaves and LP into Freed Slaves. Unfortunately it disappeared when the LP Store was introduced. |

You can thank us later, when you discover what engineering skills they have from working on our glorious ships.
You talk about "freeing" the slaves, as if you were helping them, when you are merely giving way for them to return to their savage nature, and undo all the things we have done for them.
But you and your savage crew will face judgement sooner or later, then you'll understand true mercy. |

Suggested before and still .... +1 That option is needed for RPers since .... forever!
rightclick->"free!" , converts them to a random ("non-quest") civilian. (also there needs to be an option to 'enlave' civilians (for amarrianRPers).) Switch them back and forth. Maybe a chance they might die in the process?!
CCP advertises with a choice/opportunityLore rich environment, but i cant RP properly?! #ccplease.
Add new modules or ships that can use tactics and strategies to shake any op meta or use totaly different gameplay yourself to make it happen! yay :)
....und Local braucht ganz dringend ein Update!

I would like a 'return to proper owner' option. Perhaps CONCORD send me a letter praising my good Samaritan nature, or the original Holder would send me a small finders fee.

We Caldari are allies with the Amarr Empire.
And if the Slaves want to be free they should follow Caldari Philosophy and maybe actually work for their freedom. Rather than complain and expect someone to give them such great things.
((That sounds oddly familiar.))

I could keep this up all the way to amarr, I'm here all week ladies and gentlemen, but then again, so are you.

"Trash" option is sufficient. Putting aside the Amarr jokes I usually make, try to think of "Trash" as a "release myself from ownership and responsibility thereof" function. Trash a ship you don't want or need anymore? Some nameless non-capsuleer in the station gets in it auction. Modules? Same deal. Either someone buys it at auction or the station owner melts it down and uses the minerals themselves. As for people (not just slaves, but janitors, spare militants, etc), they are simply released from their holding cells and allowed to go on their way.
Also, you could try jettisoning slaves out of your ship when you're orbiting a star or a black hole. Crushing gravity or solar radiation will prevent them from having to worry about freezing to death. Or make a game out of it...go at high speed in an interceptor, fly at an asteroid and jettison them. It's kind of like bowling, except you score based on the % of the rock that is covered in blood, instead of knocking down pins.
Let's discuss overhauling the way we get intel in EvE.
