Hi community...
So I scanned down a wormhole and after exploring it I scanned down a relic site. Once I warped to it, I saw that it was filled with sleepers...
I have seen sleepers in high sec and heard they don't mess with you if you don't attack them. Is the same true in null sec? Had I de-cloaked would they have attacked?
Thanks so much.

Sleepers spawn in all anom's in WH space with the exception of the Pirate Relic/Data Sites aka Null sec sites |

there used to be rats in hs / ls / null relic & data sites, never was sure why they removed them. |

They were removed at Odyssey so we could pay closer attention to the lovely hacking game and that silly old loot-spew mechanic. Amirite?
Yeah, well, it's just like my-áopinion, man.

you went able to hack the cans till the rats where cleared. they should put back a few token rats tbh,
The astero and stratios are pretty decent ships and can handle quite a bit, |

i think you are confusing hisec drifters with wormhole sleepers
wormhole sleepers will shoot you when they see you.
there are 2 types of sites in wormholes- the sleeper sites and pirate sites. If the name has a pirate faction, angel, gurista etc there will be no npc there. but players are more dangerous anyway.. |

HI everyone,
Thanks so much for the great comments. I'm trying to work into relic and data sites but can't find any that are not guarded by sleepers once I enter a wormhole.
How do you, as one who has chosen the exploration career, make a living? I read that null sec relic sites are great payouts. But every time I go into a wormhole there are sleepers!
Thanks! |

There are 2 kinds: 1. Names start with "unsecured" or "forgotten" - these are sleeper data and relic sites respectively 2. Names start with "Angel", "Sansha", "Blood raider" or any other nullsec NPC pirate faction - these are null-style data/relic sites that have no NPCs/defenses and can be found in nullsec and C1-3 space.
So with that knowledge, enter the WH, determine if it is C1-3 (using eveeye, or wh.pasta.gg or whatever). Then scan down the sites paying attention to the naming convention, and make danque isk.
I don't "make a living" this way, but I guess you could if you really needed to. Especially for the noobs who are still training into a decent ratting ship. What I mean is this: If you have the skills to kill sleeper rats, you'll make much more that way, and it will be faster and more reliable. Once you can run a C3 gila, this will make you more isk/hr 98 times out of 100.
So anyway, if you wanna be a pro explorer, train your scanning/hacking skills up (T2 relic/data/scan mods make a difference), and get yourself an astero (it gets bonuses to this stuff).
Oh, and remember to drop of your loot regularly. You wouldn't want to end up getting killed before you can cash that stuff in.
Yeah, well, it's just like my-áopinion, man.
