How would you like to be able to see into the future and be able to predict the lottery numbers and scoop the jackpot every week?
Yep that is exactley what the test server is, I just had someone buy every local power plant cap relay I have on market at 1.4m each which came to a lot of ISK, strange I thought considering I paid 200k each for them, I ask corp mates any ideas on this and low and behold I get told they are getting a boost in Kali/revelations/whatever.
Is this true?, so I can basically go onto test server before new patch and see what items are going to shoot up in value and go buy every single one of them on the market and wait for patch.
I would class this as an expliot.
Is this true?.

Almost as soon as module improvements like this are announced, they all get bought out really quickly.

It is not quite true. You can go onto the test server and notice changes that are being planned. From there you can guess if it may have an impact on the game where buying up market items will yield you some profit. However doing that is extremely risky at best.
It can work mind you, has netted some lucky people billions in the past, but it can also crash and burn furiously.
You roll the dice and take your gambles.

How is it a gamble?, you have an unfair advantage over people on the live server of what items will most likely be worth more in the future, it isnt that hard to guess if an item thats getting changed will be worth more or not.
But thats beside the point, they are using information from the test server and using it to an unfair advantage over us on the live server, who could make a fortune for ourselves. And for the record I am not bothered about the ISK cause I am allready filthy rich, but this is an unfair advantage if people are using information from future patches in the test server and buying stuff on the chance they could make lots of ISK, which otherwise they wouldnt and at the end of the day if they dont go up in value they dont lose anythhing cause they can always resell the items they have purchased.

It's considered a gamble because changes on the test server don't always make it to the live server.
Everyone has access to the test server - banned and unmirrored accounts aside - but not everyone chooses to put the effort in to access it and test/view new content. Some people do and speculate on items that appear to be getting buffed. Sometimes it pays off, other times it doesn't and you end up owning hundreds of Tractor Beam BPOs. ~

I find this statement specious ( #2) at best. Anyone who has made any significant amount of money would not be uninformed about such things and/or the potential reprecussions such matters can have. Unless you've gained your so called riches by means best left unsaid. I leave you to your pre-patch rabble rousing on an issue that has high risk, high reward, and zero possible solution.

and in this case it was in the patch notes that have already been released, so you would not even have needed to check on sisi
