sorry, didn't know where else on the forums to post this...i couldn't get on sisi for a few days...ended up killing my copy of eve folder, and re-copying it, DL'in the new patch and what not...got on fine, was playing around and fitted out a destroyer for fun. went to an asteroid belt, started shooting a random NPC, launched my warrior II and POOF...comp restarts.
my computer has never restarted on its own before, so i loaded up, installed the newest drivers for my graphics card...get on this morning, load up in the same belt...saw my warrior II, clicked on it...POOF restared again :(
I really dont know much about computers, so any help would be greatly appreciated...right now i'm running a 3.01Ghz pentium, 2 Gigs of ram, NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT...if you need to know more let me know, again thanks for any help

I had the same problem. Turning off the sound completely (untick sound enabled or whatever in the menu).
Realtek onboard sound by any chance? -------- It's great being Amarr, aint it?

Hey,
I'm having the same problems as you. My computer keeps rebooting if I have audio enabled in game. I have the same soundcard as you, a Realtek Audio High Definition. It's integrated on my Asus P5W DH Deluxe motherboard.
Rubbish, hope there will be a fix for this one. I want to have the option to play with sound enabled.

Eve uses a very simple sound scheme. I had the same problem so I turned sound hardware acceleration off in windows and Eve was fine. Other game though did not like having the acceleration off :)
So the choice is: 1. Have sound with Eve and not in other games - turn off hardware acceleration 2. Turn sound off in Eve.
It varies depending on your sound driver setup but I found my accleration settings at:
Start - Control Panel - Sounds and Audio Devices - Volumen Tab - Speaker Settings (Advanced) Button - Performance. There is a slider for Harware acceleration that I set to 'none'
Hope this helps. Eve without the sound sux
