The current wcs module allows gurrila warfair. A typical fight that I enjoy is jumping into a small gang of enemy try to shoot one of them down and try to escape.
The reduced lockrange/resolution penalty makes the module pretty useless on a combat ship. Now that people have gotten tehre way I don't belive you will like the changes. I'm sure some will but most will not.
I belive you will see a reduction in small fights, i belive you will see an incrase in 1 vs 10 fights because few people are going to solo anymore.
I would have rather seen a limit of wcs per ship than the penalty that has been implemented.
----------- Side note: At a gate there was a tempest that targeted me, I engaged, rook warps in and jamms me. I warp off. In local the rook pilot says tells me I suck for using wcs, I tell him he was using ecm. He says one is part of the game and the other is lame.
I don't see it lame, wcs is a valid tactic and why would I sit there and allow myself to be killed while being target jammed and I can't do anything about it?
One of the few counters to ecm is wcs ability to warp off and come back. So now it's ecm your enemy the fastest, and gank 10vs1.

emc is nerfed for one wcs are for those who don't wat to fight, once they get finnal settings for the wcs nerf you could boost those areas again but you'll have to fit your ship around hit and run and not just slap them onto to a ship and think that it will work.

the wcs change is good for people wanting to avoid fight. what you highlight is a different problem.
don't forget jamming is chanced based so you don't have to sit and wait for him to kill you^^ albeit it is unlucky and today you have odds against you should such thing happen:)
I'd much rather see a different variation in in game fighting, today you can refit your ship at pos/carrier/mothership or when you are docked.
but c'mon, everyone who watched science fiction knows that the heroes managed to win in startrek/starwars/battlestar (you name it) by tweaking the space ship while fighting. (I know you can do it Jim)
I say we change ships to be able to refit in space. So you carry different setups with you. You are jammed? switch to some ECCM (like ammo, 5-10sec delay)
No more docking for refit ! :)
actually i like this idea so much i'll post it in development forum ^^

Well fitting 1x sensor booster should just about undo the damage of one WCS, if you can bear to lose that one slot. I havn't checked rigs, but I'm sure there might be rigs which effect locking time.
Locking time is the only important bit, mind- you can always fit a close range setup (ACs, blasters, pulses or HAMs) to work around the range.
