But does someone know exactly how I might go about getting / making / researching those items? Thanks, Prax

Praxor	Posted - 2006.11.29 06:29:00 - [27] Sorry, I guess my real question was how to get hold of those "Invention" materials: the two data cores and the esoteric ship data interface. It looks like they can only be obtained from agents? Thats still not clear to me. Salvaging? Thx, P

You can, however, also get datacores (and the other stuff as well) from encounters you find by the new "Exploration" feature - i.e. unmapped encounters generated at random in a system that you have to search for by using system scan probes. That said, I will only believe that Battleships can't be invented when somebody tries it and fails! Take a look at Mining Barges: they do not have an Invention tab; they clearly can't be invented. Why would those Battleships have this tab if there's nothing to get? Maybe they just want the players to find something... Yeah, I know that it's unlikely, but I love these kind of speculations.
