So i just came back to EVE after being gone for 2-3 years. I had a wild hair to go poke around in low sec. Being cautious as normal and seeing a flood pilots in local i open my d-scan and activate my "pvp overview preset" which should only show player controlled ships. Well to my surprise i get about 1000 control towers..... so on my dscan right clicked> remove control tower. And closed and then reopened my dscan. Still 1000 control towers.... ok so went back to HS to configure my overview and its presets i deleted every single tab leaving only general opened dscan and my "PVP preset is still there" (im sure its easier to get rid of space herpes than this preset) ok so that didnt work. So i logged out opened the launcher clicked settings hit every clear button possible. Even ran the repair tool it stated "there is an update" seems promising right????? Launched the game and i saw Aurora which was a good sign (im finally free) undocked. Opened my dscan and NOPE!!! that damn preset is still there hanging around like a hooker at a free clinic...
Keep in mind this is a brandnew pc and had/has never had the eve client on it before. Am i bugged or something or is there something i missed. I have cleared every cache possible. I would really just love a fresh install of eve so i can reconfigure everything. Or if anyone knows how to delete presets ive used ther overview settings>misc>delete function didnt do a damn thing..

I guess you can begin with resetting your setting entirely and see if you still have this problem. If not, you can proceed to customize your overview / download existing one / both. |

The good news is overviers are now being saved on the server side and you can share them simply by linking them in a mail / chatroom. Find one that suits you and finetune for yourself.

Recently, dscan was decoupled from overview and you can change the dscan settings to any overview setup you have.
On the dscan window top left is a check box to use active settings and next to it is a drop down. So you can have one set of settings in your overview (eg seeing all gates, stations, beacons and player ships) while having completely different setting in your dscan (eg. Ships only).
Just double check whether you have that checkbox checked or not, as right click and remove in the dscan window doesn't work. Change the dropdown settings.

So much this.
Dun'Gal > Hal is simply an imperfect ai, though if drunkeness ever gets programmed into ai's I foresee both a hilarious and tragic end to humanity.

You can tie your D-scan results to your overview, and you can have overview presets acting as your filters. D-Scan has a checkbox for this.
For a start, I would highly recommend this article on overviews.
What I do is I have a PVP tab that allows me to control who is on my overview based on factors like standings and such, and they would be the only thing showing up on my overview.
